    A thing or two...
I went out this morning and picked up a Stihl Kombi setup (KM 94 R with FS-KM and FCB-KM) to replace my 6yr Troybilt trimmer that I keep having to work on.

When I got home, I noticed water coming out from the cabinet under the kitchen sink. The threaded connection that joins the p-trap to the disposal had come loose, so I reseated the connection and cleaned up the mess.

Finally, I figured out what the dripping sound coming from the guest bath toilet is, so I have to make a run to HD tonight or tomorrow for a new flapper.

Also agreed or you're likely to have the door racking in the track because the new spring pulls harder. Next thing you know you'll be replacing the other spring anyway and possibly a new opener.

Father in law came over today and we relocated the sink and toilet lines to exit the wall instead of the floor since we have a raised vanity. Also ran new shower lines/ new valve.

After he left I threw down some 1/4” cement board. Gunna finish off hanging the drywall and start laying out the shower tomorrow. Is there a standard height for shower niches? Using the schluter kerdi system with a 12”x 20” niche and am trying to layout the subway tile so it ends on a ground line where it meets the niche.

I've commissioned myself to a project while I'm in town the next two weeks, renovate my laundry room. By that I mean move my water heater from my detached garage into my laundry room.... and by that I mean convert from natural gas to hybrid. All to evict the natural gas company because they want to install bollards in my yard... against my house, to protect their meter. bye bye Felicia

I’m dealing with the same problem except the meter is underneath my house and they want to protect a 6” piece of pipe that comes out of the ground and swings into the house.
I threatened to sue them for trespassing if they do it without my permission. Haven’t heard back since. It’s been about a year or so

Lit the furnace pilot light this morning and fired up the heater for the first time this season.

Ran the new Kombi equipment for a few hours this morning weed eating and edging. Then started cleaning up the leaves and pine straw that's started collecting in the yard.

I had to fire our furnace up on Friday night. I'm sure it won't be too much longer and my wife will want the fireplaces turned on, too.

They came by and started spraying paint on my grass, then knocked on the door. My wife gave me a call and I was able to speak to the guy. After I spoke with him, he said he'll write it up as "could not complete" but said someone else will be back out to follow-up at a later time and if I didn't like the idea of the bollards they could move the meter to another location, in back, but they'd charge me to move it. As if I don't have any say in what happens. If you don't know about hybrid water heaters, look into it- I didn't until I googled "efficient electric water heater" because I was damned if I'd have bollards in my front yard, and I'm glad I did because I'm going to actually save money. I went with a RUUD hybrid on SupplyHouse

Anyone ever had foundation replacement work done? Currently getting bids to re-do the block foundation wall under my attached garage.

Moved in 2 years ago and im guessing the previous owners never once cleaned the gutters, combined with a high water table, and the neighbors sump pump discharging directly against my foundation means the freeze/thaw cycles have reduced the block below grade to a sandy/gravel substance. Luckily the main house seems to be in good shape and was previously waterproofed, but 2 of the garage foundation walls definitely need to be replaced. no idea what this is going to cost, all my knowledge and experience is in the carpentry realm, i'm hoping it doesn't top $10,000, but we'll see.

Wow - I wished I'd know about the hybrid water heater a year ago. I have a high efficiency gas heater and solar panels. When the gas one goes out I could totally go electric. With the solar panels it could be close to "zero" energy cost. (quotes around zero because I had to buy the panels, but that's a sunk cost, so my perspective is the panels are now free energy devices.)
