Switched Reverse Lights

So I want to put my reverse lights on a rear light switch. Obviously they’d still come on in reverse but I want to have the option to use them manually. I’m assuming that I could run my relay wire from my switch to the reverse light wire and that would work to activate the stock relay? Anyone done this? Just trying to avoid adding more off-road lights or at least until my bed rack is installed.

 

Nice idea. Haven't done it, but I like it. Especially, since I put in brighter lights in the backup location.

 

I tapped off a wire in the fuse box. Forget which one.
