Bought 2021 Off Road Oct 1st. All the dealers in SF Bay Area were demanding full MSRP PLUS a dealer markup! 1k to 2.5k!

Considered the new NightShade but impossible to find. in a 1000 mile search, I found ONE.

Offroad with Leather also tough to find but most dealers had one or two. Only one dealer within 100 miles would give me a "deal" on it. That was Elk Grove Toyota.
Paid MSRP less $500. They knew it was coming in on truck and I reserved it a week or so before. picked it up hours after it was offloaded.

some good deals on leftover 2020's if you can find one you want.
Sidenote, never has a brand new car. kinda fun driving off the lot with only 12 miles on odometer.

Are you kidding me? That’s sick, man. They’re $5K OVER here and anywhere within 350 miles, and these knuckleheads won’t budge. That’s actually exactly what I wanted.

that’s an option for the states. Canada only has the premium option. I had to look on the American website to see the difference. They have a lot of different package options to choose from.

To those we a better grasp on the overall market than I, are these COVID-crazies specific to Tacoma's or similar in the competition (Ranger, Colorado, etc.)
I'm trying to wait things out, but my need for a truck is increasing. Due to a window storm I was nearly unable to reach my cabin last week in my GTI. Winter is coming...

Gladiator sales are up 37%... Ranger sales are up also. The entire segment is booming.

I just checked the Toyota website to "build my taco". I have noticed the 2021 TRD OR DCSB 4x4 AT - Cement color "is only available with LED Headlights and Fog Lights". It used to be only available with "Technology package". Can I still send the requests to dealers to find out if they have the cement with technology package? I am not interested in the LED headlights and Fog lights as I plan to upgrade them and other stuff in later time.

Ha, literally just did the same thing as you. Been searching for a few months in the Bay Area, and everyone was quoting MSRP + $5k markup. No one was willing to negotiate, and - when I tried to do so - I was told by every dealer that there are 5 people behind me who will pay MSRP plus markup before the truck is even delivered. Pretty crazy and a non-starter for me.

I ended up getting my 4X4 2021 TRD OR DCLB with tech package in Cement from Elk Grove Toyota for ~$2k off MSRP before TTL. $1k was a rebate because I financed through Toyota and the other ~$1k off was because I went through Costco. I'm happy with this deal (especially for a 2021) considering the crazy market in California, but recognize a year or two ago this wouldn't have been a great deal. I hunted around for a few months in all of California, Reno, and even Idaho and this was the best I could get for the specs I wanted.

Yes, the build site tries to force your hand into your regions available allocations / existing inventory, you can have the dealer do a special allocation request in which they'll ask the factory to adjust / spec differently.
