Definitely puts in perspective why 3” ‘lifts’ in the front simply limit performance for the sake of appearance robbing down travel

 

Yes, but also weight plays a large factor as well. Even if your tires are skinny as stock, the added weight will have an effect on the drivetrain and steering as well. Less unsprung mass the better.

 

good thing 275/80/17 MTRs are 62lbs lol.

 

Great size. I'm going to 35/12.5/17 MTRs and they're only 64 lbs. This isn't my DD so I'm not too concerned about the wear and tear. I would even go up to 37s if the oem steering rack wouldn't die so quickly with them...not about to change them every other year.

@81Trekker so you mentioned earlier in the thread you don’t care for SPC uppers and rather use a stronger uniball after adjusting the LCAs forward. Does that same thought apply to stock length LCAs too?

I’m going to have my shop adjust the cams as for forward as possible. Basically I’m going to clear these tires 100% on stock suspension before I really dive deep down the rabbit hole suspension wise. Funds aren’t unlimited right now so I want to do something I’ll have to do anyways no matter what is up front - clear tires through entire travel range.

 

Coating the underside of a truck in lightly used CV grease, so the owner can enjoy it properly, is the touch of class we expect around here.

It's true, CV grease is very good for that.

 

Pushing your lower arm all the way forward in the stock mounts is the worst thing you can as it puts side load on bushings

 

So this would be where your bracket mounts (and/or extended LCA) would shine?

Yes the LCA pivot kit is designed to allow the cams to sit right in the middle of the adjustment and give you 4 degrees caster with stock upper arm geometry. This eliminates all bushing side loads

question: how obnoxious will oil changes on my 2.7 be after that sucker is welded to my frame? Lol. I already take my RCI skid off each oil change, but the door on your pivot kit looks bigger

 

You just remove the entire skid, it uses 5 3/8” flush head allens with captive clip nuts... the entire skid can be removed in under a minute
