Just found this dealer selling a 4x4 sport with 170,000 for almost 30k! Are people really forking out the cash for tacomas right now? Seems like anyone willing to pay 30k for a Tacoma would buy a new one with no miles and warranty, rather than one at a used car dealer with 170k miles.

That’s an inflated price, it’ll never sell at that. That’s a sub $20k truck.

The dealer or private owner can dream can't they?

I agree the truck would be worth sub 20k.

That is crazy but someone will pay it. Disagree with the sub 20k crowd. That's second gen territory.

The zip code matters. Resale prices on KBB and NADA jump up $2-3k(~10%) around here if you just go 40 miles west.

I doubt it'll go for 29k, but I would not be surprised at all if it does end up selling for 25k+. There are still plenty of people who fiercely believe that buying used is ALWAYS the better choice because they truly believe the whole "your new car loses 30% of its value as soon as you drive it off the lot!" applies to everything. Couple that with someone who "needs" a tacoma RIGHT NOW and they absolutely "need" 4x4 and TRD trim but all they can afford is this and they'll snap it up.

Tell me about it.. Back in April I was looking at 16’s and 17’s with 40-60k miles and TRD trim (with or without tech package) for as low as 25k. I found one for 23k in NY and the salesman told me immediately over the phone that after 2k in fees it’d be 25k so I baulked and told him no thanks. Sure kicking myself now haha.. I think that dealers started inflating the prices this summer due to the demand to get outside so inventory of everything was low. Boat prices were also insanely inflated this summer.. I’m hoping that prices take a dip once winter hits and dealers start needing to move cars. It doesn’t help that I’m looking for an Access Cab which are harder to come by.
