Hey guys. I recently took off the metal frame I had on my tacoma Holding up my roof top tent and it left behind rust on the plastic bed box rails it sits on and I simply can’t remove it with soap and water.

any suggestions how to remove this and get it back to black? Should I just use back to black plastic refinisher? Or is there something I should do first?

    Try Coca Cola on it.

I’ve actually used WD40 and it works really well. You just have to clean off the oily residue afterwards and you should be good to go.

Bar Keepers Friend might work. I've used it to get rust off kayaks.

Thank you all. I’ll try the WD-40 technique first since I need to go grab some anyway for another project. And if that doesn’t work I’ll try the coke technique.
    Cheers guys
