    Stock for now.. maybe
When my shell was install the tie down hooks were moved inwards not taken out. I still have the full length except for a few inches on either side. If you want to install them in the rails id say just remove the rear topper clamps and slide them in.

The lip of the shell comes right over the top lip of the rail . I can get the tie down in the rail with some force but because the lip or edge of the shell covers the top lip of the rail it will not sit flat on the rails and will not tighten down . I hope I explained that right . In your picture you can see the top lip of the rail . On mine you cannot .

Get some t nuts that fit in the rail. But some i bolts with a short shank and screw them in, tie downs you have.

So it sounds like the inner lip of his shell extends downward past the inner tie-down rail in a similar manner to how many shells have their outer lip extending down overlapping the bed rail top / truck bed sidewall.

If so, anything extending straight out from the tie-down rail hits hits shell and won't work.

5 minutes with this will make the extra length of the lip disappear.

LOL I thought of that but wast sure if it would screw up the edge of the shell lip or if there is a reason for that extra lip ?.
