Back in the day I was able to get the cam bolt loose on my 3.slow 94 toyota pickup by holding onto the cam pulley with a rubber strap wrench

I will ALWAYS have a quality strap in my tool bag. Plus a chain strap wrench in my tool box for the really obstinate akward fuckers

On my camry I used channel locks to hold the pulley while loosening with a wrench

When I was your age I used a chain wrench around the balancer pulley on a 20R motor and literally crushed that pulley into a D shape..

Since then I try not to hold onto metal rotating parts with metal tools lol. But I'm glad you had luck! I assume you didn't mar up the pulley grooves with the chanel lock teeth?

It wasn't that tight just sorta snug, I griped it from one point of the pulley not two points on opposite sides, and put the old belt on so it didn't mar the part that matters

Good thinking, that's smart to use the old belt

Thanks man! I'm just gonna grab @Kwikvette 's since we're meeting up in Moab anyhow and I only need the one, at least until I get back and can order a new Durobump set. Appreciate the offer though

Resurrected a 2008 smart today. Been sitting since 2013... literally jump started it and it fired up on 7 year old gas. Absolutely the easiest resurrection I’ve ever had.. now to order tires and brakes, change fluids to get it road worthy again It sat so long it sank through the asphalt to the dirt below[IMG] [IMG]

When I grow up, I think I want to become an off-road product online store.

I see a number of people that basically have online storefronts that remarket products from the vendor's storefront. Shipments are fulfilled from the manufacturer's central US fulfillment center. Build an outrageous rig with every possible item, go to some events, and be in pictures as a sponsor, enjoy life.

I see some vendors that are smart marketers and others that are not so smart.

Is it wrong that I'm sitting in my office taking blood borne pathogen training and laughing because they have the word "poop" on a slide at 37yrs old?
