Been there done that. Quite the time tedious adventure. I am impressed with the kit they make specific to model and year. They pretty much address every square inch of the frame.

2-10 weeks is a large spread! A lot better than most right now though.

    Welcome to...your new addiction/hobby. ;P

Yeah, I did my invisiframe and then I found more bubbles than I liked so I need to redo it. :/ Tedious but doable. Just gotta be patient and uber anal.

This....thing....absolutely eats up trails! The Whole Enchilada didn't know what had it coming. that DELTA system is something else. 120mm? what? only? it definitely felt like there was more to it than 120mm. I could've almost sworn I was riding my Capra at 160mm. rock drops? no problem, this thing handled it just fine. baby heads? great. let's keep going. And the Pike Ultimate fork? That thing handles like a champ as well! It took a little to get it dialed in for the enchilada's infamous chunder. But I think I got it dialed in partway through. I don't notice much flex in it like I was expecting (For reference, My Capra has. Lyrik) and it definitely loves to eat up the first little bit of travel really quickly unless you really dial in your compression damping. but knowing that and dealing with it all, I love the fork. Would I trade it for my Lyrik? Depends on the bike. I think the Pike is a great fork for a short travel trail. Especially when everything is carbon. Lyrik would've been heavy and, well, too much travel. and the capacity of the Pike to eat up everything is great.

The only time I regretted bringing this guy to Moab was about at mile 25 after the constant barrage of baby heads and rock drops. The 160mm Capra would've been more plush and softer on my body. But that said, I didn't feel as beat up as I thought I would be and I certainly had enough energy to ride more. Going from the bottom to the mouth of the canyon, I locked it out and I FLEW past everyone. and I do mean FLEW. Strava places me at 12.5 average (Probably because I stopped to wait for my friends) and max of 24mph on the road...

And climbing on this thing is amazing. Even without the lockout, it finds grips when previously I didn't even think it could. I'm running an Aggressor in the rear compared to my normal Assegai or DHRII. Did I have to walk some of Burro Pass? Absolutely. Mostly because I was saving my energy because I knew what was ahead but also because, well, it's Burro Pass. But this is a climbing machine. I've already set my own PR's on most of the climbs that I've done. Wonderful.

Summary? It's great. It's everything I hoped for and then some. I wanted a short travel trail bike and this thing fits the bill absolutely perfectly. It complements my riding style, it complements my quiver, and it complements me.

thank you for coming to my ted talk.

Nice! I just got back from 7 days of riding in Moab. I'm from SWPa and what a great place to visit and ride. Did all the "usual suspects" I guess, TWE, Ahab, Navaho Rocks, hiked up Portal to check it out and determined it was above my pay grade so passed on riding it when we did Mag 7. Went back into Fruta 1 day to do Kokopelli Loops which was fun and a nice break. If anybody has been there and seen Horse Thief Bench drop in you would probably have a new found amazement of Jeff Lenoski's talent, the video of him climbing up out of there is something to see. The drop in was also above my pay grade (skill set) lol.

I rented a Revel Rascal from Double Down in Moab. I figured a 140/130 should be ok and it was 98% of the time. The only time I may have wanted a little more was a couple sections of Ahab, other than that it was a great bike for out there. The Canfield Bros rear end is the best design I've ridden to date, I have not ridden every one out there but it would be hard pressed to find a better working rear end, as good...most likely but not better. I would really like to demo one around my home trails to see how it works but that would most likely lead to another bike purchase and not rest well with the Mrs.

    Very cool!

How much was the bike rental if you don't mind me asking (feel free to decline)?

I've done three already. I learned a few tricks along the way, but really it comes down to being patient and not rushing any piece. I feel like gloss paint can get away without it, but matte colors show scratches and wear so clearly and the matte film looks really good.

Taking the Wreckoning TWE this weekend, I think. That should be fun :)
Pretty impressed with the Evil platform, and they are damn sexy looking.

What do you guys think on this pricing breakdown for my 2020 Santa Cruz Tallboy CC frame with Fox Factory DPS (full tailored RideWrap installed as well)?

    $2850 - frame/fox shock
    $3200 - frame/fox shock/Cane Creek inline coil and 3 coils (400/450/500)
    $3750 - frame/both shocks/CC Helm coil fork

I think I might be a bit high, but I’m still undecided if I’ll sell or not. Figured you guys would let me know if those prices are way outa line or not.

The Wreckoning would be amazing for Moab. A part of me is wanting to replace my enduro rig with the Wreckoning but that's not till next year. They are certainly very sexy bikes. Can't go wrong with the looks at least.

I think Evil bikes are the best looking bikes on the market. I don't know why, but something about them just looks damn good to me.
    How many miles/how much use?
A bit higher than I'd go considering retail on frame/fox shock is $3099. But the market and the ridewrap might warrant the price with the lack of supply
If you're considering selling it in the next 6 mo. or so, I say do it now and get as close to top dollar as you can

Under 300 miles easily. Prolly closer to 200-250. All mileage was on mild southeastern XC style trails.

It hasn’t been registered for warranty and after taxes it was just over $3300 from my local shop. Not sure if that should be factored in or not, but that’s how I came up with the prices.

Definitely more attractive knowing it hasn't been registered for warranty yet

I'd just put it online for that price and see if you get any bites. You probably have time to play around a little bit but winter is around the corner so the demand will shrink (this may not be true anymore = Covid). Selling a frame option (w/shocks & forks) puts you into the "experienced bike owner" category who may be less willing to pay top dollar than say a fully assembled bike. Just my two cents and none of my points are probably valid at all due to COVID.

I agree totally with your assessment.

Been thinking about picking up a bike to get back into shape and explore some nearby trails on. Is there a bike you'd suggest over the Trek Marlin but in a similar price point? Or anyone that owns one and really enjoys it?
