Put on 2 1/2 inch exhaust from the cats back and found the low end torque I was looking for. From the second cat on the passenger side and just before the bolted connection where the double wall pipe terminates on the drivers side. Fat Joe bent the pipe back to a pair of triple chambered Magna Flow turbo mufflers. Then used the tail pipes from an Flow Master American Thunder kit. Finished it off with the black chrome toyota tips. Averaging 21+ with AFE cold air kit, OV tune and 488 gears since Nov 2019

I wasn't super impressed until you said that MPG is all with 4.88 gears. What size tires?

285 45 22 on trd pro sema wheels. I've been very diligent with my upgrades. Cold air kit was huge. The truck shifts and pulls the way it should have from the factory. I almost bought a supercharger two weeks ago but now I'm glad I did not. The exhaust finished it. I tow with it and I'm satisfied now

Little this. Little that 4x4 Swap’d PreRunner
4.88s with 285s is what gave you the torque.

I didn’t know Toyota made TRD 22s tho.

Negative on gears and tires gave me the torque. Before the exhaust I still had little response until the truck down shifted. It's one of those seat of the pants things

what placebo effect are you referring to, exactly? and have you done any tuning and/or exhaust modification work on the 2GR-FKS?

Why did you want 22's? (Genuine question. Not trying to sound like an ass)

Ah ok. So they're not made by Toyota, the operative word being style.

Cool, it works in that size.

Current vehicles: 2019 Rav4 Lunar Rock. 2018 TRD OR DCSB KD Max tuned. 2010 Tundra Limited Crew Max . 1991 4Runner Crawler. Ivan Stewart Edition
KD Max Tune, King 2.5 coil overs T.C. UCA's, Deaver leafs, 17x9 Black Rhyno Warlords, 33" Toyo M/T's, Metal Tech rear bumper, Westin HDX drop steps with Bullet Liner coating, K&N CAI, Baja Designs fog pods, Rigid Midnight addition 3" pod ditch lights. Cali Raised brackets and 32" behind the grill mounted light bar, Southern Style Offroad Lopro Stage II front bumper, Warn winch, FACTOR 55 Ultra Hook, FACTOR 55 Hawes Fairleed, full debadge, Cosmetic goodies such as 15% carbon tint, matte black in channel rain guards, interior LED's, Teton Workshop shift knob, Inferno vinyl detailing on the interior, Cali Raised multi rocker switch cubby insert with Mc Tuning LED switches and a few other mods I've probably left out.
So let me get this right you have the OV Tune and 4.88 gears but it was the CAI and the exhaust that gave you the proper shifting points and all that low end torque and now you no longer feel the need for a supercharger? All that money wasted on gearing and a tune when all you needed was a cat back and a CAI. Good thing its friday

Honestly, I am not an off road guy, I have a 4wheeler for that. I am more touring. Being a Minnesota guy I tow the boat, the snowmobiles etc. Even for snowmobiling we tour, backpack for 3 and 4 days in the UP and northern MN. I have a set of 17 x 8 copper ray10's for next year but I'll put the same michelin defenders on them in a 285 70 17.
