these things are so unclear from the outside as we have no insight into the details. they also have an annual exit provision according to Marko.

I wonder how much it would cost to buy Honda's F1 engine development division? Red Bull or Ferrari could be ahead to do so.

Red Bull probably buys it and re-brands it for both its teams

I have no idea on the $$$ involved, but it seems like a no brainer. Honda said the tech isn't useful anywhere else, so I don't see it being an issue for trade secrets and such.

Per Marko they can exit after a year. Little to no chance RBR buys the Honda engine & develops it themselves. The amount of money involved is staggering.

Besides funding and/or no interest, are there other barriers keeping other car manufacturers out of making F1 engines? Would love to see an American car manufacture get in the game.

Again. Just like his last season at RBR. I honestly don't understand why people hire him, especially given his performance over the past 2 seasons.

Alonso would never mail it in. He only has one gear when he's behind the wheel.

With the RB engine troubles and cost of effort to be an engine manufacturer so high, I see two or three easier options.

Back to Renault is most likely if they stay in F1, convince Porsche (VW group really) to become an engine manufacturer (highly unlikely) or push their full weight behind another series.

The hybrid tech translates easier to an LMP1 car but the PR benefit is just not there. Same with Formula E, they would not get the same cost / PR benefit with lower viewership. With a new F1 cost cap structure, I would not be too surprised to see RB and Ferrari for that matter have multiple series race teams in Formula E / Indy etc.

"Renault is different now to the Renault we left, with a new chairman, with the few changes he would bring moving forward," added Horner.

Hopefully Renault will put in the money to compete with Mercedes. Would add Ferrari, but that team is a complete dumpster fire.

Based on Gunther's recent comments, it is time for the Haas drivers to start taking each other out again.
