Do you guys think this is anything to be concerned about? CVT Mount Shasta standard. Probably has 10-15 trips on it. The corner of the tent to the right of the ladder is pulling out of this plastic channel and it’s now starting to crack the channel. All other corners look fine.

Mine is starting to do that on every trip now.. Kind of annoying, but just find out which end is short and pull it tight again. Depending on how big your tent is you may want a 2nd person to help feed the fabric rib thing back into the channel as you pull it through to the other side, to avoid more cracking.

Mine does that too. When I am unfolding it and have the tent at a 90 degree angle I pull the extra fabric down otherwise it can put some strain on the stitched seam above the hinge.

Yeah moisture inside the tent was my second issue this past weekend. Went up into Wisconsin and it was down in the upper 30s at night and rained all weekend. Moisture outside the tent moisture inside the tent. Mattress corners were wet from rubbing against the sides and letting moisture in. packed it away wet and had to tear it off the truck to get it to dry out in the garage.

Tent camping in the rain sucks. The RTT makes it worse because it is so much harder to dry out due to the weight and size.

Agreed, I am looking to mount it on a trailer of some sort so I can back it into the garage and open it up to dry a little easier without having to mount and unmount every time its wet. this is the 4th trip I have had to do this and its getting tiresome.

i got caught in a snow flurry a few weeks ago. decided real quick to pack up and get down the mountain or we could have been stuck up there for a day or two. my tepui kukeman wasn't the easiest to pack up, but it was wwaaayyyy easier than a ground tent covered in snow would have been. the hardest part was zipping the cover on with freezing/numb fingers.

Jeez that's crazy lol yeah definitely post a pic!
My old CVT did the same thing, and I did what others recommended above. Just was a little extra maintenance to do/awareness to have

I have the CCT Mt. Hood, which I’m enjoying. The setup and takedown is light years faster.

HOWEVER, the SAT signal is a real deal killer. I was driving across the mountain range with the most spectacular views and nothing but clear blue skies with the message NO SATELLITE SIGNAL. Horrible!

i could see how that would affect signal being the shell.

I really like the CVT Mt Hood im just too tall for it with the wedge design and losing possible foot space at the pivot point. Great tent and would absolutely have one.

It’s definitely snug compared to my Shasta. My feet do touch the wedge part. Everything is a trade off, it seems

It’s pretty easy to bunch up a tent and toss it in the back of the truck.

CVT has a new hard shell RTT coming out. Looks to be similar in design to the ikamper but with the ability to have more head room.

thats true, but it wouldnt have really been packed. i would have had to stop again before getting on the highway or strapped it down with a bunch of stuff. in both cases the tents would need to be aired out when i got home.

I have tossed a few wet tents in the back of the truck. That being said, I still want an RTT

I saw the Fury listed as an upcoming model on their website but didn’t show any specs or pictures so I emailed them to see what they could tell me about it. They responded with those pictures and specs. Looks promising. We recently sold our Mt Shasta soft shell and was leaning towards getting an ikamper mini or stepping up to a Bush Company Alpha but might wait until we can check this one out.

That looks very crazy. Whats the point of that tent window on the right side? Its like half under the hardshell part?
