Where might rubbing be coming from?

I am new to the truck world. I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Off Road and recently added Fox shocks to the front with a 2.5" lift. I also added Method Wheels 307 Hole wheels with Falken Wildpeak tires. The tires are 285/70R17" (according to the invoice). When I am driving downhill, break, then turn right I get some serious rubbing. I thought it was the mud flaps so I took those off but it continues to do it. Anyone know what it might be?

Most likely the cab mount if it wasn’t the mud flaps, but could be anything. Have someone look at the wheel wells while you full turn the wheels left and right. The closest point is most likely where the rub is occurring if it’s only during braking.

I'd try looking into the wheel wells. Typically, there will be witness marks at the rub location.

The forum would just be making guesses as to what is being rubbed.

Sounds like the cab mount. Very common to rub if you're running larger/wider tires. A lot of people here get a CMC (cab mount chop) where you cut the plate back at an angle and weld a new plate over it to gain more clearance.

Its either the fender liner or cab mount, possibly both. While unlikely, it could also be rubbing the suspension. Gotta look at the tires at steering full lock on both side in both directions, if you cant see it rubbing then have someone look while your driving.

Wheel wells wouldn't rub when turning. Only when stuffed.

Check your inner fenders. They are paper thin plastic and I was able to see my rubs after a few days in the plastic. I also was rubbing on the air dam and had to trim about an inch off each side with my set up. I am at stock factory height with 275s and .75 spacers. I trimmed out the inner fender where I had to and don't have that problem much anymore. I rubbed driving backwards and turning into my driveway. Crank your wheels back and forth and have somebody spot for you. It should give you an idea of where you maybe rubbing.

My bad, I read it wrong! I would still put my money on the cab mount since OP is only rubbing while turning.

You can verify the tire size to your invoice by reading the size on the side of the tire.

As others suggest, you can likely find the rub spot(s) by examination.

Since you note it turning right, I'd be looking on the PS first, in the back corner.

Have you tried turning left under the same conditions?

Did you have an alignment after the work was done? What are the Caster numbers? Sometimes more can alleviate rub. Sometimes it takes aftermarket UCAs to get more.
