Alignments are 40 bucks tires arnt

 

It's mostly the remains of brackets, haven't even gotten to the part where I clean the surface rust off haha

 

Alignments are $80+ out this way

 

My "hole in the wall" (it's a pretty good place all snapon everything but the building itself gives off hole in the wall vibes) tire shop that does them for 40 bucks does a consistently better job than firestone... All the ones I've been to

 

Your alignments might be 40 bucks, mine are almost $100 more than that. At a specialty shop.

I think Firestone out here charges $90. I still have a lifetime package but never use it unless I just want a toe n go

 

I don't go to firestone, they hire techs straight outta schools, they always suck. I have a buddy in a little podunk town that builds Score racing buggies that does my alignments. He's worth the price, still less than a chain. Les Schwab and Tire Rama both want $95 right now for alignments

 

What camber/caster numbers do they shoot for

My shop doesn't touch the spcs just the cams and toe, they always just get the numbers the machine tells them is good I guess from what toyota says it should be

 

Under normal circumstances I have them put my caster at 3 - 3.5° and camber as close to 0 as possible. But since something is fucked with my front end they had to adjust my caster differently side to side to get it to track straight. My SPCs are in different ball joint settings side to side lol. But at least it doesn't pull anymore. Still need to figure out what the problem is, they said nothing looked bent visually but I'm likely dealing with a slightly tweaked spindle.

 

I hope my tacomas spindles are fine... They should be I hope

 

If they weren't you would know it, normal alignment numbers wouldn't keep it straight

 

@Speedytech7 speaking of alignments I've always wondered how alignment shops know what caster you have if all they do is put that sensor on the rim

 

I'm using them to make my 2wd 4r a 4x4 they havnt been used since I wrecked the tacoma

Ever notice how they put the things on and then roll the vehicle back and forward. It's measured based on the difference during the roll, pretty sure they re check after nailing toe too.

 

I want to work at that company lol
