Just catching up from being away from the computer for most of the weekend and yesterday.....

You can always keep an eye out for someone taking off their stock suspension for an upgrade and buy their old suspension. Even if it is quite a distance away from you they can cut just the muffler itself off and ship that and you can have a local shop weld the new to you muffler in. Or just buy a replacement muffler and do the same thing.

That reminds me of my Dads sense of humor. My Dad used to carry around a penny, a nickel and a screw in his pocket then ask people, "Have you ever seen a penny screw'n a nickel?" Then he would take out all three out of his pocket and show them to the person.

Morning chowderheads! So here's another truck question for you guys.. might laugh at me, I don't care... my truck calls for 0-20 Dexos and I accidentally bought 5-20 Dexos. I don't know what either of these numbers mean so don't mean to start an oil debate but is this fine for my motor? Isn't the 2nd number more important? And the first number is just how cold it protects for? I'll need another change by about New Years I imagine.

5w-20 will be a little thicker than 0w-20. Which I'd just save that oil for next summer and get some 0w-20 with the cooler morning temps we are getting. The owners manual may say how low of a temp the recommend you can use 5w-20 down to

Agreed. The first number is how thick it is cold, the second number is how thick it is warm, to keep it simple. Right about now we're getting into the real cold, so that first number is more important. I'd do the same as Mr. Bell, save it for when you do your oil change in, what, June sounds like the timeframe would be? That way you aren't using the thick at cold stuff in the cold.

Realistically .... :notsure: have at it, as long as the next change goes back to 0w20.

A lot of engines rely on engine oil to adjust timing and such, which depends on a consistent oil viscosity.

That being said, my Crosstrek is the same way, and also requires 0w-20, but because it burns so much oil, I've been running 5w-40 diesel oil in it

I watched the opening skit. It was pretty funny actually. Not looking to bring poly-tricks into it because Santa can't have hammers swung on him right now lmao

Yes and synthetic is thinner than dino oil to big with. A lot of vehicles recommend 0w-20. As a popular misconception, the W stands for Winter, not weight.
