What axle do most people use for SASing? I know that’s loaded question.

Most of the ones I see in person are a 85-older Mini truck front or Wagoneer 44 front.

Under a tacoma the mini truck front is really only safe with 35s an a wagoneer 44 to 37s. I break enough chit that I figured I would go to the 60 and be done for a while

Not a closed knuckle dana 60. The stock IFS is probably just as strong as that axle.

I used an fj60 axle for mine. 9.5" diff and mini truck outers so you have the best of both worlds. I should have went d60 because the turning radius blows with toyota axles, but I always wanted to build a toyota axle for my own shits and giggles. Not worried at all about breaking it with 37s.

depends on tire size in the end right? u said those two youd be with like 35s 37s, but for the tons or d60's u can go for the big 40's?

Assuming nothing special I would steal the gears and throw them in the spare parts shelf

Some of those early dana axles have some funky shit going on with them.

    I have mods
@esxcli used Dana 60 ton axles front and rear on his. You could easily start with a Dana 44 front just to get the basics done.

I don't want to have to trim the fenders

That lift combo describes most of the trucks and toyotas I have seen down here in NC. The other side is RTT and LED light bars on them.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
And they're drums front and rear, the cost to convert that is many times what they're worth. Given the age, probably low spline count too
