I tried scheduling this on Monday, was told a service advisor would call back, that didn't happen. Hopefully the service manager will actually call and I don't have to keep chasing them.

I called my local dealer, they said you had to call for them to order the parts and they would call back when it arrived. Service advisor predicted end of the week, he should have it

Yep, the dealer orders the improved fuel pump per VIN number. It's not a stocked item yet. The old defective pump is sent back to process the claim. Toyota knows each defective fuel pump per its serial number I was told.

Having mine done right now, drove in with fuel light on and warning displaying 8 miles left of fuel. Fingers crossed here.20201007_133200.jpg

They should know, this recall has been out awhile and other models have already been completed. The recall clearly states its the low pressure pump.

Is toyota going to notify those affected via letter? Mine is working fine and I'd rather not be a Ginny pig for the new pump

    ^ Well done.
The less the mechanic has to be pissed off about, the better.
I'd give $100 bucks out of pocket if they'd let me in there to give him a hand personally.

I'll get mine done tomorrow. They do have to drop the tank and are offering a rental car. Seems pretty good to me.

I noticed that the trucks that were on hold at my dealer are now listed so they must have fixed them. No recall on mine yet.....

So, from what I'm reading, the 2020 is immune to this recall?

I went in for my 25K service last Friday, my dealer told me they had the parts in to do the recall. After being there for 3 hours they then told me they couldn't do it because I had a full tank of gas. Come back when it's under 1/4 tank. o_O Couldn't have told me that in the beginning? So I went back on Tuesday when I was below a 1/4 tank. That visit took 6.5 hours. Can't believe it took that long. Putting on my lift didn't take that long, smh. But it's done.
