    3rd gen Tacoma plastic bed... do you think the plastic is THICK ENOUGH to hold up a 5 lb fire extinguisher... without long-term cracking due to bumps and potholes...

    I've seen other people do it I just wondered long-term truck bouncing would cause any cracks in the bed

    I keep mine in the pocket behind the back seat. It works great for me as I always have the back seats down because of my dog.

    I believe you need to do the rivet nuts in the bed if you are going to bolt the bracket directly to the bed. I am looking at this extinguisher right now https://elementfire.com/ expensive but pretty sweet and I can put one in both the cab and bed.

    if bolted use large fender washers they spread the load more
