Oh yeah. Definitely be along for the drive.

For my issues in the past with other cars, that was the only way to get a solution.

    Good luck!

From searching through other posts it seems as though Toyota changed something to not allow the 19 to do this function and completely removed the 4/12 wires terminals from the obd plug for the 2020.

I'm not really liking this. That is actually pretty shitty.

It might be worth seeing if this can be initiated in TechStream? I don't have my computer with me, but can look later today.

After I did some work to my wife's FJ it did some weird brake locking up crap in the driveway. I disconnected the battery for a bit . When I reconnected all was working normal. Give it a try, can't hurt.

    Good one!

With that, I would recommend the extra step of pulling both terminals (negative off first and on last) and touching them together for 10sec to drain down any stored voltage.

It sometimes makes all the difference, as it did with the intermittently working (and stupid) powered lift gate on my wife's Subaru. Just pulling the negative terminal was not successful.

I assume you are referring to the mats off-road recovery video. I don’t remember anything about S3 in that video, but i won’t dispute it. In any case, I have never read on this forum, in the user manual, or anywhere else that S3 has any direct affect on how traction control behaves.

And people wonder why I waited until I could get an SR. I was disappointed it had electric windows.

A few pins in the DLC3 are standardized. The rest are manufacturer discretion. Jumper-ing pins to perform certain functions are definitely non-standard manufacturer discretion uses.

You need to hook up to techstream and diagnose sensor signals real time.

Is the VSC indicator light flashing as this occurs?

With the change happening in 2019, your (and my) 2017 should be good to go with the instructions in the linked post and Service Manual?

Yeah with it being the same as the 2nd gen is great.

But the future vehicles won't be the same so it might help someone else out

    I totally agree there.

Might be good to add to the existing stickys? Tip and Trick or DIY Maint?
