I have the same rifle in 30-06. Got it for a steal when Gander mountain went out of business. Was hard for me to find the correct mounts and no one local had the correct ones. It’s a decent rifle especially for what I paid for it.

Holy shit that is some serious gouging!

Decent prices - what part of the country are you in?

I have had decent luck checking about 3-4 stores on a weekly run. My last score of 9mm was at Cabela's, I bought 5 boxes of Herters (house brand) 115gr for $10.99/box and 5 boxes of Winchester 124gr for $12.99/box. My local hardware store just got in some PMC 115gr hollow points for $21.99 - not bad for a box of 50. I should probably go get a couple boxes this morning.

Don't lose faith - ammo is out there!

Also, picked up the PC Charger yesterday after 3 fucking weeks of waiting.

Soooo...I was "that guy" just a moment ago. I little while back I picked up a Savage 220 (20G rifled shotgun) for deer. Have been scouring the interweb for weeks looking for quality slugs. Savage recommends the Remington AccuTip. I found plenty of Hornady SST's and a couple boxes of the Remington Expanders. Was at Cabela's buying some more Kent for duck hunting and saw something that looked familiar.....hmmmmm. JACKPOT!! No limits on the # of boxes. With all of the changes at Remington, I bought all of it (16 boxes). I'm probably set for life now.

I got the Leupold ones. They are pretty much. Can’t remember the height but I like how they work with their rings

After, the usual rabbit hole review dive, I purchased the below Eotech / Magnifier combo

    Good choice.

If you are really digging that combo (I do) and want a little more sturdy 3x magnifying mount check out Eotech's riser mount. Been using one since 2016 and it is fantastic. More sturdy of a mount for the 3x, rises the xps 2 more into my neutral line of sight, and works fantastic for use with nods.

Probably going to pick up a Henry Big Boy carbine in case-hardened .357 Mag this week too. The Henrys are beautiful rifles, but damn the tube-fed magazines!

Oh really? That’s the one thing that always kept me from buying a Henry, was the tube fed magazine. Feels like I’m loading a Marlin model 60.

yeah I had a Henry steel 44 and I hated the tube feed, but hated the action more. I swear I was grinding steel shavings every time I worked the lever.

Although I am still thinking about a new threaded version with the gate. Either that, or the Marlin, or a threaded barrel Ruger 77/44
