Has anyone ever bent these back?

Correct, that frame honestly is not that bad but like I said if you can’t buy those hangers without the full frame, they just chalked it up as a total loss. I’ve seen much worse and they could easily pull that cold, don’t see any kinks or bends other that that bottom lip, maybe some deflection on the side once the hanger is removed.

No, one of the comments says the truck was hit. Then another says he bought it with a salvage title.

 

Yes frame can be straightened, the hanger brackets I would not try to straighten and are technically not available from Toyota by themselves so that’s more than likely why it was totaled previously. They are only riveted/bolted in place but if you can’t buy the part by itself still needs frame that comes with those pieces. Vehicle manufacturers know how to make things unrepairable either due to safety or to force a new vehicle purchase based on the way the parts are designed.

Many, many new trucks have the same flaw of rear rails buckling/wadding up in a minor rear impact in the trailer hitch/rear bumper area. Some manufacturers offer frame sections for repairs and some don’t.

I wanted to update you guys. The shop straighten the shackle and I put new leaf springs in.
