Uniball maintenance

So I’ve heard many people use tri-flow spray can for uniball maintenance. I have this bicycle lube which says to Have Teflon. Does this work? Or should I get the can

 

Curious to hear what everyone else uses

 

Seems like nothing is a bad lube as long as it is a waxy substance not a liquid like wd40

 

That's because WD40 isn't a lubricant.

 

I used that exact lube on my bike chain for years, really liked it. I've been thinking about trying it on my 1911 slide just too see
how it holds up. I say give it a try, and keep an eye on it.

 

I've used that on my TC uniballs.

Hasn't exploded yet.

Just clean it with a rag or something, and drip it in there.

My brother used to lube his bike chain one link at a time with White Lightening (similar dry teflon lube). Took him like 5 minutes to lube his chain, lol

 

Lmao I’ve been using it but you should clean the top before you do add some cause of dirt etc

 

Personally I prefer wet chain oil for my bike chain, helps the chain last longer for me.

OP, I dont see why you couldn't try. It should dry and not attract dust to the surface. WD40 also makes a silicon based lubricant

Depends on the conditions you ride in. In the wet/rain, you want an oil lube so it doesnt wash off mid ride, but for dry conditions, the oil attracts dirt and a nice crust will form. That's where the dry lubes are far better.

 

Whats your preference for dusty/sandy while still having puddles? That was what I was racing in so I had to choose one over the other. Also wet felt like it was smoother and quieter

 

Yeah I'd be curious to see after our trip.

I couldn't get my Icons with Uniball installed so I'll be running stock arms.

 

Yeah, the teflon stuff washes off pretty easy, so in a mix, you end up with the wet lubes. Not ideal, but as with most situations, it's a compromise.

 

tell you what though the uniball moves so much better then the balljoint. lot smoother
