I am jealous of your jointer. I have one powermatic tool, and I love it.

    OB shine juice.
1/3 boiled linseed oil, 1/3 shellac, 1/3 denatured alcohol. Rub in 2 coats. Then spin, with light pressure, increasing pressure with every coat.
Oil soaks into the wood, shellac seals, alcohol dissolves a little of the old layers, bonds to the new layers, while the excess oil lubricates and smooths the finish.

I like it. Messy but fun and quick.

I spy a wooden bug. What's the story behind that? Are there plans available?
    Very nice!

I’ve had that little bug since for as long as I can remember. I’m not sure where it came from, I think my grandparents might’ve gotten it during one of their many travels abroad. It’s been in the workshop for a few years cause I was glueing some pieces back on that fell off and now it’s kind of a decoration out there. I’ll see if there’s a makers mark or anything on it.

I have another thought but it wouldn’t be polite in here. I’d have to save it for our other thread

How do you guys have time to make the fun stuff?
My recent woodwork has been cutting plywood for the neighbors to be prepared for hurricanes, replacing a deck, and repairing a water damaged wall on my camper garage.
Looks like my priorities are askew.

No you get blizzards, fires, and tornadoes. Lol. And a spectacular view of the mountains.

Haven't had a blizzard in... I don't know how long. We don't get fires here...nor tornadoes. They are more foothills than mountains I would say.

The pics look like mountains to me. Our mountains are ant hills and gator mounds.
