I’m with you on this. Mine is also bad and I stopped checking because who cares. It’s a truck.

As for “driving habits” that seems to mean driving like an old person. Time is money and all that. Don’t have time to drive 55 everywhere. Fuck that. I drive 40k+ miles a year. Driving that slow would eat years off my life. So now I have a lifted heavy-ass unaerodynamic truck that I can take on off-roading adventures and 80 on the freeway. Mpg be dammed.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I allegedly speed at least 5 over. I ain't easy on the pedal. But again, i'm mostly stock without much added on so there's that.

I drive max 70 on freeway when I had mine. Also driving fast, quick acceleration, stops etc can cause premature wear on certain parts. But to each their own. My FJ was the worst though, I would get 12 max and that was being nice to it, finally just said fugit. :anonymous: The end of the day it's a truck you're right.

Who's all done Black bear/imogene pass? I'm planning a trip next summer and want to head out that way after moab. Is it pretty technical as far as obstacles or it is tame? My plan is for my truck to have a 3'' lift with 33's on it and that should hopefully help me clear most sections if needed.

Pretty tame from a difficulty perspective. Hardest part is the switchbacks coming down blackbear because how tight and narrow they are and the pucker factor when all you see is open sky past the hood.

I've done them both in a full size. Your Taco will handle it fine.

I just did them both last weekend. Neither are technical. Imogene is beautiful and easy. Steep part here and there and a few rocks. Black Bear is not bad. The steps and the slide are a little puckery. I thought the switchbacks were super easy. Can you make a three point turn and not hit things? Then you are fine. Only that first switchback is really tight. Guy in front of me fucked it up and was on two wheels and took like a month to make the turn. But if you aren’t an idiot, it can be done with two back ups. But then again I grew up driving in the mountains and climbing and am not scared of heights.

Black Bear occasionally flips people over so keep your wits about you and be slow and logical.

Black Bear took 2 1/2. Imogene took just over 3. Arguably Imogene is more scenic and has more pullouts and so forth so it took a little longer cause I liked it better.

It was pretty nasty this weekend when I was up there. It’s quite nice down south here.

Yep went and did it early Sept. It was a quick trip and then I have been off the grid for the past month.

Did Black bear first (early morning) only saw two other wranglers on the trail. We also did several other trails that same day (Imogene, hurricane pass + several others that I dont remember the names). We also made it up to Tincup pass/ mirror lake on our second day of adventuring. I ran into the guys from TFL (The Fast Lane Truck), they were filming there Tincup pass run. They were surprised to see a long travel IFS on the trail.

Anyone here ride dirt bikes? Specifically trail riding.

Got a new bike this year but haven’t been out much at all cause I don’t have people to go with. Before I sell it I wanna try to get out a few times and hit some trails.

Teach me your monetary secret so I can live "off grid for the past month."

I meant off grid for work. I work in the offshore industry and I am usually gone from 2 - 8 weeks at a time. Satellite internet on ships sucks ballz when you have 30 + people trying to check facebook. To me it is 'off grid' haha.
