Well this is not good.

 

It’s definitely more of a pita than I was anticipating.

Well I have it narrowed down to my front locker somewhere. I double checked all connections but it’s still losing pressure somewhere. The compressor cycles on every 50 seconds for a split second to maintain pressure. The diff remained locked while the pressure dropped and cycled. I’m going to throw on the supplied arb fittings and hose and see if it does any better to see if it’s an internal leak or if it is the hose.

 

It’s got to be internal because the leak continued. Now the question is whether or not that’s actually an issue since the diff remains locked while the compressor is cycling.

 

Internal as in the locker inside the case is leaking?

That sounds like an ARB issue.

 

Could use get pressure in the lines and locker, unplug the compressor and see if the locker itself holds pressure?

 

I came up with a shade tree work around because I don’t want to mess with this anymore. Now, the threads on the locker are fucked up because apparently the crown performance lines supplied wrong adapters? Who knows. Now the adapter won’t snug up into the diff, it just spins.


My solution now is a new pressure switch. The current one kicks on at 75 psi and shuts off at 105. Arb says 85-105 should be supplied to the locker.

viair offers a 85-105 pressure switch, so I’m just going to install that. My compressor will cycle every so often when the front locker is engaged, but that’s not too frequent. I really don’t want to deal with this anymore because at this point, the solution would be to drop the front and send it to ecgs to have them take it apart, fix the bulkhead fitting and check for leaks.

I was digging around to see what it would take to replace my bulkhead fitting and it’s not feasible. It flares the end of the copper line down so I would need to replace the copper line in the locker too. That wouldn’t be something I’d want to do. For those curious.

I’m having issues with my front locker firing and think it’s the pressure switch. Mine look a little different than yours (I’ll get a pic soon), but I imagine they are the same basic thing. Would you sell your old one? Or have a link to the viair one?

 

This is what I ended up buying. I want to hang onto my old one but this one will hopefully work too.

Oh god no lol that would be terrible.

 

Seeing this plate bumper modified to be tucked up where mine's at makes me want to redo my bumper out of plate. This looks so clean.
