Is your starter ok from Coppinger? Looks like it took out a lot of starters out this last trip. Cheap ass Tacomas...

It is but when I rebuilt it a couple months back I slapped marine grease on all the seals to minimize water intrusion... seems to have worked

 

I threw it in the back of the truck so it’s with me just in case you or anyone else has the itch to snatch it while I’m in town

 

Huntsville about 1.5 hour from me so im not gonna make it up there this weekend.

 

Good so far. It's my boy's birthday today so I'm taking the afternoon off.

You try just grinding the contacts or replacing them yourself? When my first gen went out one of the guys at work that’s a mechanic told me to pull it off the truck. Showed me how to take it apart and he ground the contacts. Worked the rest of the time I owned it. Told me this is how to rebuild one by just replacing these instead of grinding them.

 

I have not. I already ordered a new OEM one. I’ll take apart the old one and see if I can’t do what your suggesting, and just keeping it as a backup. Thanks for the info buddy!

The H9 bulbs are much brighter than the factory H11s. I love my lighting setup now!

 

I’m considering getting the XB led fogs for my new one.

 

I really like these SS3s. They light up the roadway very well, and they are only the Sport models. I can imagine the Pro models which are double the output. I’ve seen the Morimoto beams before and I wasn’t impressed. It was more of a horizontal light beam instead of a true fog.
