This week has certainly been the up/down rollercoaster I was not expecting. Phone has been going off so much I just turned the volume down all the way. Nobody has noticed yet:anonymous:

We had other agents leaving lights on all the time while selling our last house. Worst was when the house behind our current house was for sale and agents would leave ALL of the outside deck lights on on both decks. Lights are obnoxious and light up our pool and jacuzzi area. Finally had to call the listing agent and complain.

Hope all goes well and you can close this deal :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

As it starts getting cooler it would sure be nice to be able to soak. Perhaps someone could be persuaded to get it fixed for you :boink:

Speaking of fixing things.... Finding goods and services out here is a bitch and a half. Any local news, sales, events, etc... Are almost all on Facebook of all things. The amount of pages I've had to find and follow is ridiculous. I have 4 contractors business cards from the hardware store plus a picture of their business card board they had up. Getting stuff done around here that isn't done by ourselves is going to be real interesting.

The few times I have tried going this year have been hell. All these new people out learning how to fish has had places with people on top of each other. I don’t feel like having Karen get me with a hook.

also the past week or two they been releasing a lot of water out of the damn and water has been moving to fast.

I trout fish the clinch River below Norris dam/lake. Right now they usually have 2 or 3 generators on to help lower the lake for winter, When they aren’t letting water out you can put waiters on and walk out in the river.

Sounds frustrating. Small town correct? How far to nearest bigger city/town? How do the locals feel about new people? That's a problem here especially those of us who came from Ca.

Plenty of resources here. Problem is getting people to actually show up and do the work. We are thankful to have friends who are GC's so at least we have that. We try to do a lot ourselves but our skills are limited and I have a tendency to get really anxious when attempting things around the house I've never done.

    We're not that small :annoyed:
We're not really any father from a larger city than we were in CA, about 45 minutes one way and an hour+ the other way with a larger town only 15 minutes away, Wal-Mart, Safeway, etc...Haven't really experienced any CA hate from those we've encountered but seeing the amount of folks hoping for a wretched winter to send us newbies back where we came from is annoying. Funny thing is most people we've met aren't from Montana originally so they don't really get the hate either :notsure:. CA just has a horrible reputation and they assume everyone new must be a rich person from CA here to drive up home prices. I've experienced it in TX before, everyone just assumes people in CA are all hippy surfers who sit at a beach all day

I think the problem with finding contractors is that there is such a big housing boom in the larger areas that they don't want to bother with little jobs like what we have. They're all about new construction which is kinda funny since it really goes against the whole hating growth vibe you get from folks. We'll slowly figure things out, just taking a bit of time to get used to the differences.
