Raptor Lighting

OK, So I just received my Raptor Lighting for my 2018 PRO from iJDMTOY. I've always had good luck with there products but get this. I open my Raptor Light package to find a note stating you have to hot glue the lamps into the OEM Grill. Yup. They don't snap in securely. That sucks.
Looking for a quality brand that fits and matches the lamp color of my DRL and Rigid L.E.D Fog lamps. Any help would be great. Thx.

I have these and they have been great so far (5k miles, lots of wheeling, no issues). Easy install, they just snap in as expected.

Weird, also some of the white lights I've seen are around a 6500K temp, not sure your DRL and Rigids fog are that color. Might be close but will still be off color temp wise. Amber is a safe bet though and looks good

That's what I got, just installed them over the weekend. I like them so far, but they didn't have a good "snap" feeling I would have expected. Every once in a while I feel like I need to make sure they're still in their position.

 

True, it didn't have a reassuring click into place feeling, but after 5k miles they haven't moved at all so I think they'll be alright. I do check from time to time as well though

 

That's reassuring. I assumed it was because of the front facing camera, not allowing the plastic to warp until it fell into place.

 

My ebay ones have been working fine for 1.5years now...like $20or 25 just saying.

 

I looked closer at the lamps and grill. The issue is that the backside of the OEM PRO Grill on my '18 is that all the cutouts are not the same. Some have different contours than others. The lamps will click tight in one opening but not the one next to it. I doubt there is a company that makes lamps specific to each opening. I can make this set work. Two click tight and one I'll have to reinforce with 3M 2x time. Yeah, I am going with the 3 lamp configuration. I wiil post a pic. Gonna splice into my DRL Crt to run them.

 

Where exactly will you splice into your DRL's?

 

A little jbweld for plastic will hold them forever.

 

I spliced in right at the left side DRL crt at the lamp connector. Green wire. Grounded at body ground by the underhood power distribution center. They work great

Tried this last night and couldn't get the grill lights to work; tried the pink wire and they came on with the headlights BUT this morning the grill lights didn't come on with my DRL. I have the 2020 OR with LED headlights.

How do I get them on with the DRL's AND headlights?

 

Same issue. Wired into the green crt. They work great in auto with DRLs. They turn off with headlamp manual or when auto headlamps activate. Haven't figured out why. 2018 PRO lighting. Happy with them working with DRLs

 

Mine are hooked up so when the headlights come on the grill light come on. Waiting on my friend who is going to wire mine to a single dash switch that fits our dash(going left of the steering wheel) and it will be marked grill lights. Then I have complete control as when I want to use them. He did his and looks factory installed, plus I use the tinted lights so it hard to see them as they blend in so well with the Pro grill.

Wondering if you also splice into the pink wire if that’ll get you both DRL and headlight?

 

DRL's dim when the headlights are turned on, maybe that's causing the lights you tapped in to shut off.

 

The best way to figure it out would be by looking at a headlamp wiring schematic. Then you could see what crts are commanded on in each switch state and by what. I am sure it is controled via a body control module of some type. It isn't just simple power and ground via the switch.
