    Sole reason for me wanting to build a pistol was to run a suppressor and not have an extra 6-8” hanging off an already 16” barrel

    I have an oss 5.56k on my 14.5 and it only adds 2 inches to the oal. But yes you are correct on a shorter barrel if you plan on running a full size can

    So let me get this straight, the barrel has to be 16” to be legal?

    Or should I just start googling stuff...

    Funny thing is, I’ve shot an AR multiple times amongst other firearms. I just don’t know all the in’s & out’s if you get me.

    Has to be 16” if it’s a rifle, if it’s under 16 it can be a rifle if you file a sbr form 1. Or to get around that you can have a pistol AR-15 and have whatever barrel length you want
