Just bought my new Tacoma two months ago. ever since I bought it. Even on test drive i noticed a little rumbling noise when pressing he gas. especially at 1500rpm when its in drive mode. its not a huge noise but noticeable. sometimes louder than others. and not all the time.

before this i had an old 2000 dokata truck.

this is my first brand new truck. I figured since its brand new thats just part of how the truck sounds....for this 4 cylinder.

my question is this a normal sound??? for this truck??? anyone else with this truck hears It? Do I need to worry??

Lugging !!! That’s a good word for it. Almost like it needs more gas at times.

so is this normal for Toyota 2.7??

im so used to my old dodge 4 cylinder 2000. Manual

    havnt drove a automatic.

Mines a manual and that only happens when I cause a problem. Id suggest taking to dealer thats not normal/good long term. Otherwise maybe pedal commander/OV tune might help.

Yes, that’s how they are. I always manually shifted mine cause it would try to get to high gear at 15mph.

I think the rumbling noise is the engine running

Can you record a sound clip when you hear the noise ?
Noises are very difficult to diagnose over a keyboard
If you put the truck in drive , hold the brakes and bring the revs up to 1500 , do you hear the same sound without allowing the truck to move ? Give it a try
