A stock cable throttle body 3.4 has plenty of low end tq stock it's the midrange to top end that needs it

 

it has nothing on my 4.7. seriously. its like holy shit.

that being said yes the top end especially is where a 3.4 lacks. but i can say the headers on my 01 really livened it up. compared to the bone stuck prerunner with the same gears and 200k less miles, it was noticeably faster with headers and exhaust

 

Yeah, the 3.4 has nothing on the 4.7 V8 power wise. The 4Runner now has the same size tires on it that the Tacoma had and the Tacoma had stock 4.10 gearing. The 4Runner is stock 3.73 gearing and still has way more power and giddy-up than the Tacoma ever had.

 

i love the tundras power with the 3.93s but im really tempted to go 4:10 or 4:30. mileage be damned. 33s will help with that...

Yeah, my goal is at least 35s on the 4Runner so I'll be looking at 4.88 probably. Haven't gotten that far yet to even know, I'm just guessing.

it took alot of restraint to not cam the tundra when i had the cams out for the cam seals.

 

the billet pulley set has my attention. too bad i cant use the power steering pully. but the rest is totally useable

if your going that far just pull the engine and build the bottom end to take some boost.

 

if i happen across a cheap 2uz or 3uz im jumping on it and holding onto it for a build... i use to just think little about the toyota v8s, but owning one, ive fallen in love
