Shit. I’m old. Looking at the clock like “almost bedtime” and I’m tired.

 

Yeah true, dang day is a blurry. Pushed my limit to hard today. Had vision trouble for a while a bit ago. Worked hard today staring at the comp today to much without breaks again

 

I know all the words to that song. I’ve scheduled breaks into my calendar so I get up and walk the building at work for 20 minutes a couple times a day. Otherwise I’m stuck in my office turning into veal

The prices and condition vary but this is the average.

With that said, while being a great platform to build off of I have to wonder if it's overkill for my needs.

It's a lot of weight for one. After adding a tent, a bike, the camp kitchen and all the tools, propane, fuel, and whatnot, it's going to get heavy fast.

Do these have brakes? I definitely want brakes no matter what.

Military trailers look cool AF high like that on full size tires but I think it will add to the difficulty of loading the bike on backwards. I will add a very small atv winch no matter what I build. I'll mount it to the front wall on the outside and cut a slot, and mount the fair lead on the inside. I'd like to be able to just stay outside the trailer and hold the handlebar to guide it in though. Since I'm vertically challenged the higher bed height might make that operation more difficult, or unsafe. Since I only need the headroom to be as high as the bike that will mean I'll need to crouch. Also on my wish list is I'd like the top of the tent, when closed, to only be as high as the cap on the truck. Not sure if that's possible with a military trailer. Then, there's the height of climb into the tent. I'm not as spry as I use to be, not very coordinated to begin with, I like my cocktails, and I'm older. I suppose 2' or 10' doesn't matter but the farther I can fall the worse off I'll be when it happens. Yes, when. I know me.

So yea, 5' x 8' minimum, brakes, steel, low, able to swap tires for something taller than standard trailer tires. Full articulated hitch, corner Jack's or supports, wood bed (or plywood subflooring) leaf spring or coil over suspension.
