aftermarket amp on OEM door speakers?

anyone on here added an amp to their 3rd gen truck using the OEM door speakers? If so, how does it sound?

 

I would say probably don't do that. You'd benefit more from replacing the speakers first and then amping them, even if you decide to wait to do that later. Amping the OEM speakers is just asking to blow them, and I wouldn't think you'd benefit as far as improved sound quality. Unless you were looking at something with a built in DSP (like the Kicker Key), but you would still be looking at overpowering and potentially wrecking them.

 

I would not do it. Cheap Chinese made speakers with low wattage rating. Just spend some money for something good.
