Gadget, I was able to contact the manufacturer directly and I got an update on my order. They say the y-pipe is in production now. They also said it was in production when I first place my order 4 weeks ago. I guess it must be difficult to weld up.......
As long as I know that my order did not get lost and disappear, I'll be patient for my order to arrive. Thanks for checking up on this Gadget.

Im pretty sure Gadget isnt the ONLY one that works at URD. Doesnt anyone else over there know how to pick up a phone or return messages, or were they all doing the T56 swap as well? Im not saying they are a bad company, as their reputation exceeds them on the forums.

    Lots.
Gadget is pretty much the ONLY one. He owns, operates, tech support, everything. I think he might have one person for sales but I'm not even sure on that.

X2. He's going to do his best. Forum members that deal with him personally know he puts 100% into his business.

Understood..but the customer service should be able to tell you wether there in stock or not. I will sympathize for gadget in this rough time, but 5 weeks to not even have a set of headers shipped when the 1 day option was selected is outrageous. Surely he wasnt THAT busy 5 weeks ago.

I try to keep everything I can in stock at URD so I have complete control over shipping. Lately Thorley has been having some serious problems in production and have not been able to keep up with my orders and keep URD supplied with product.

If I do not have the item in stock and get an order a message is sent to the customer of the status and projected ship date. He can choose to wait or cancel the order.

Where the problem comes in is that Thorley provides URD a date when they will have product to me and I pass that info on to the customer as it is the best info I have. The problem is somethings the dates Thorley gives URD is a bit off.

So to save time I sometimes ask Thorley to drop ship product directly to the customer as soon as the product comes out of production. This saves about a week transit time it takes the truck freight to come to me for me to ship it.

Generally I hate drop shipping anything as I loose control of the shipping and when they do not get it out when they say they will the customer gets upset and makes me look like a chump.

Unfortunately, because of the production problems at Thorley this is the best I can do for the customer.

When you say I am giving nothing but BS to the customer I am only passing on the best info I have from the manufacturer about their production status and expected ship dates. I never purposely miss lead anyone, but there are things I just don't have control over.

If you chose to wait until the item is actually in stock, you may never get it as orders are filled in the order they come in and many times the entire production run is sold waiting shipment before the run is completed.

I can tell you that I have most all of the headers in stock right now and can ship right away on most everything. Can't say how long that will last.

Currently except for just a couple of orders, all the back orders on everything is caught up.

We get about 100 emails a day and do our very best to get to all of them within 24 hours, but sometimes it is a bit longer. I hear complaints that we never answer some customers and when I get them on the phone I find that they are not using the correct email address or for some reason they just don't get to us.

We also get a high volume of phone calls and I am generally on the phone all day long. If we don't answer please leave a message and when doing so speak clearly and repeat the phone number. If we can't understand what you are saying we can't return your call.

I will say that I missed a few calls during the SEMA show and then got very sick when I got back and there were a bunch of calls that just did not get returned and I am sorry about that.

If you call and get an electronic message saying I will call you back in a few minutes, please don't keep calling back every 3 seconds. I am on the phone with a customer and those missed calls get stacked in a que and are returned in the order that they are received just as soon as I end the call I am on. This is all computer driven.

What does happen sometimes is a customer will call 15 times in one hour and send 10 emails in the same hour then jump right on the Internet saying they can't get a hold of anyone at URD. Like give us a chance...

Keep in mind we are a very small company and always do our very best to keep the customers as happy as possible.

    G

I had great customer service from URD on the phone. My purchase was shipped in 5 business days from the East Coast USA to the West Coast of Canada. No complaints here.

Pick up the phone. You'll get a more informative response and feel better about your purchase.

I have also had great service from URD. I know this thread is a few months old, but just wanted to leave that here to remind people.

Just as a suggestion Gadget, if you have a non stocked item, do not charge the credit card until such time the item ships. Not that I'd care but makes some antsy.

Anyways, great service from URD to me.

Too much for TW to know
I think this is outrageous.... all this bashing on Gadget. I've bought a couple items off of him with no problems at all.

If you are talking about waiting for the headers, did you purchase them in the group buy? If you did I'm sure that is a reason why you have to wait 5 weeks. Thorley can't make 100 headers in different tacoma, tunda etc sizes in a couple of weeks.

G has been great, even through emails. He has answered all of my questions... even all of my dumb ones haha.

When I ordered my TCAI, he was missing a mount or something but right after I ordered it he had an email that said it was on backorder and had the part in within the week.

Simply put - G and URD are great. If your having problems you should take the time to realize how hard it is to modify your own vehicle, and own your own company.
