The headers might liven it up, 01-04 5VZ welded manifolds are actually trash (exhaust direction is 90* changes, no scavenging, huge plenum with velocity loss) compared to the cast manifolds from 95-00. But the 5VZ chokes because it has a long intake tract and small throttle body and runners. Just can't maintain the volume and velocity NA, needs pressure not to choke above 3.5k rpm. The engine was so centered around torque with that intake design, which is a good thing in a truck engine. Otherwise we'd be complaining about the lack of torque like the anemic 2GR-FKS has. Just needs pressure and a port match if you have the time. Small turbo or even a medium turbo with a good compressor map is where it's at with the 5VZ. The SC is expensive and pathetic and it forces you to make power where the stock ECU and engine torque profile is at it's most dangerous (low RPM, high load)

I wish I could tell you that it gets better but, 9 months in and we're having to get up sometimes more often than we did the first month lol.

Actually last night she only got us up once, I woke up at 7:30am (usually get up with her at 6am) and freaked out thinking something was wrong. Nope, it was a miraculous ~7 straight hours of sleep

    Forgot what that felt like

Make sure and crank the engine without the plug after you break the end off the helicoil to shoot the tail out the hole so it doesn't get caught and scar up the cyl

That would be a good idea to compete it against the Gladiator. Although like the Gladiator it would probably look goofy on street size tires lol

Seriously, that FJ makes me want to get an FJ and replicate it. I really dig the look.
