    Hey all-

my quest for a smooth driveline has prompted me to look at my motor mounts- passenger side specifically. I’ve been chasing a noise that sounds like the exhaust rubbing on the body/frame at idle in park and intermittently at low speeds/pulling up to a light/etc.

Thinking maybe the sound is my motor mount (the metal bits) making contact with each other?

Not sure how I’d check it to determine but that would go a long way to explaining some high speed driveline vibes I can’t seem to get rid of.

You can try this with another person. Truck running and in drive person in the truck with foot heavy on the brake revs the motor, you looking at the motor mount. Don't stand in front of the truck and you are basically trying to do a brake stand. If the mount is bad the engine will move quite a bit.

That’s along the lines of what I’m thinking. Doesn’t sound like motor mounts are a common fail.

    Not common on a 2015.
I’d look at the exhaust system first.

Yeah, nothing even close to hitting anything. Does it even idling in park... which is weird. No worse in drive or reverse.

How often does it do it?
If it does in in Park, you may need to crawl under and take a look.
Be sure it is in Park and the E-brake is on, just to be safe.

Have you ruled out heat shields at the cats? That’s a common source of rattling.

It’s not a heat shield rattle- not a rattle of any sort really... this is 2 solid pieces making contact, it’s audible and you can feel it. My dad even commented on it... so I know it’s getting obnoxious.
