Did you also have to score the vinyl around the latch like @Aaronparker001 ? Wondering if there's a way to avoid that...

I pulled the vinyl up to the latch and cut the vinyl while I was holding the vinyl up. It worked pretty well. I clearly made a ton of mistakes, so I am probably not the one to follow on this one

Alright- I went for it. Scored it at the same angles to keep the “scales” look- did the drivers side a bit too hard and just barely got into the paint- but the passenger side I did lightly, and realized I don’t need to go all the way through the vinyl for it to peel where you want. I have some vinyl “4 wave” stickers in grey from @Tacovinyl will put on in the next few days- but pretty pleased with how it looks right now- Haven’t yet decided what to do on the back panel- will probably get rid of the “smartcap” but leave the RSI- we’ll see....

Looking forward to it. I keep getting drawn back into looking at RSI... A cap would go a long way on my SB.

Thanks- I'll remove the rest of the back decal and cut under the latch gaskets tomorrow as I like the way it looks in the photo where you don't really see it (versus the photo below).

Fedex Freight is dropping my RSI off in about 15min - Excited to get it all put together, I'm glad some of you have lead the way with figuring out how to remove the big decals.

I'm digging mine too, a lot.

As far as removing the big decals, my advice on the side panels is that there are 3 major sections, and I would just remove the whole rear section and score the vinyl under the latch gasket to avoid visible lines on the paint. If I decide to remove the rear door vinyl (I haven't yet) I will remove the whole thing, and not simply cut the logo out like I was going to, and like I initially did on the side panels, as you're bound to leave a visible mark. Was looking at the cab of my truck and realized that there's also black vinyl between the doors I had never noticed, probably cuz I have an MGM. I wonder if over time the paint under all this vinyl will start to fade less or look different... but right now I need a break from Goo Gone fumes.

Here it is as it sits today- as we need this thread to live up to it's name "photo heavy".

Putting it together, a few small issues that are correctable with a few extra minutes: my outside corners on the top panel were bent in just a bit, but a soft touch with a rubber mallet straightened them out.
Did anyone else receive the top with the "Action item" notice to stretch out the foam on the left and right edges of the top to eliminate gaps in the foam from the center section to the outer two sections? I was mostly successful but still tore a few small holes in the foam as it was already glued down super hard.

No, didn't have those problems. The way the top is packaged and crated, it does seem a bit vulnerable to damage if the shipper isn't careful, although mine arrived in perfect condition. How in the hell are you supposed to stretch that foam??? It's cemented down pretty well, mine ran all the way to the edges.

I have no idea - I tried my best with a little razor work and patience and got it.... ok.... after like 45min and just moved on once the gaps were filled. Would have been way nicer if they sent extra foam to just fill in the gap rather than ask someone to "stretch" the existing, very well attached foam.

Has anyone bit the bullet yet and ordered/installed a Prinsu toprack on one of these? I'm planning to do so very soon, but I'm wondering if anyone has yet to do it to see if there are any known issues to prepare for.

That's a great picture! Next time someone asks how large the sliding window is, we'll be sure to let them know it's two retriever size.

Got my topper installed today, definitely nice to have 3-4 people to lift it onto the truck. I realized that I am also missing my wiring harness to wire the 3rd brake light, which seems to be a common theme - any particular avenues anyone recommends to get that on its way? I'll call Offroad Alliance in the Morning to get the ball rolling. I'll try to get some good pictures soon, but I love the look so far! I got the driver's side RSI sticker off, I'll likely take the Passenger side off on the next warmer day we get.
