Went from 3rd Gen Taco to 3GT4R to 2nd Gen Taco and finally a V8 4GT4R.
    I heard 4.88s can handle 35s?

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

I've been running 285/75R17 Duratracs for a year with 4.10s. Not optimal, but hasn't been that bad.

I know 285s supposedly aren't real 33s, but my Duratracs are taller and wider than BFG 33x10.5s.

Well shit, @Don5352, we may be local-ish neighbors. Just went into escrow for a house in EDH. Would have liked to be up the hill more, but settled on a bigger home closer to the city for the wifeys commute.

Just right place at the right time. It’s dated and needs some interior work. It’s the ‘ol worn house of the better neighborhood kind of deal. Not ballin by any means. Just needs some good sweat equity.

They can. 5.29s are just give more low end power - feels way better offroad.
On road, my 5.29s and 35s are pretty equivalent to your 4.88s and 33s. High revs at speed, more torque feeling. 35s and 4.88s will feel somewhat similar to stock gears, oe tire size

Nice! Our place, should all go well, will be in Winterhaven Village area. Off salmon falls and Green Valley.

I have no clue where I'll be - just know work is opening an office in Rancho Cordova come Nov. 1 and I'll be heading up there.
No places looked at, no areas decided on, but I'll be up there soon enough.

Lmao! As if that's any better on my wallet than regearing?

Actually, if I really think about it... re-gearing or LS wouldn't be that much of a price difference. lol

You all good. I think I’ll be staying out of the city and closer to the mountains but all options open at this point

Id agree with this. My research showed 488 with a 5sp or 529 auto. I went 488 on my 5sp but ran them on 285/75/16s for a day and think you'd be fine with either honestly. My longer long term goal is twin cases so I went 4.88 on 315/75/16 and it feels better than i remember stock 4.10 on 31s feeling if that counts for anything, just shift to 4th on some hills. The 33s i didn't have to shift once i was in 5th. If you're just doing auto and single tcase and 35s go 529. Jeeps are lucky with their 5.13. That sounds perfect.

Oh and milwuakee ftmfw. Only tool I buy. Look em up on YouTube, they smash the competition in every field except yard tools against ego.....where they take second. Black Friday sales on websites like acme are pretty slick too. I got my 1/2 med force fuel impact for like $160 with a battery.
