    Wow that looks really cool!

I'd be interested in knowing the history of his custom casting to house that lower ball joint.. I'd be afraid of poor casting quality before that ball joint were to fail. The ball joint portion looks stout as frig

There have been a few companies that have cropped up over the years that make uniball lowers for 1st gens.

Quite frankly they have all been redonk expensive, and usually require a new spindle too, so at least for me, the cost-benefit isn't there.

This method is an interesting concept, pretty sure I saw it a few years ago, and never really heard anything about them since. Maybe they're trying to get it going again?

This is a cool concept, but I'll hold out for more than what is essentially a blog post with a bunch of parts that don't appear to have been assembled or even installed or tested.

There will always be interest. The problem is cost. Then there is the little thing of reliability, which is really goong to come from the reputation of the company.

If they can get someone like low range off road to market and sell it, or one of the other big name toyota specialists, I'm sure a lot more people would jump on it.

My issue with this design is why re-use a stock ball joint? You're taking a lot of material out for that uniball. So I'd want to see some durability testing before I show any interest.

I saw the post off of a Tacoma Facebook group. Good to see it’s making the rounds to TW. Hopefully someone will make it sooner than later.

Yeah, these are what I was referring to.

When you factor in the $2k for spindles, and the $650 for the upgraded heims at the rack, that's in "no thank you" territory.

I'd love to see something like what everyone does for the UCAs; and integrated control arm and uniball replacement that can bolt to the stock spindles. Hell, keep costs down by retrofitting oem LCAs (drill out the rivits and replace with a uniball mount) since the LCAs aren't really a weak point.

Without looking into it more, I think it’s not easy to do without changing the steering and making a bunch of bump steer.

Probably easier to just start from scratch with whole new lca and spindle and make it like any other race kit but for stock length arms. No cheap way but lots of lt trucks pound on oem lbj’s no problem and don’t have failures.
