First couple of times that I smoked box-pressed cigars, felt a little odd. Now, I enjoy them quite a bit!

My sister was visiting a couple of weeks ago and she found my grandfather’s pipe. The box post office stamp was date 1939. I remember my dad smoking this pipe and I wanted to smoke it, so I got some pipe tobacco and then we saw a hair line crack in the pipe, so I guess it will become a display.

Just lit up a Gurkha Governor perfecto paired with some Four Roses bourbon.

I’ve never needed a humidor until now, but a friend of mine gave me a bunch of cigars to try. I already had this jar, so I ordered a hygrometer and Boveda pack and made a humijar. It’s working out pretty well so far!

I do this, too. Because it is so tight, when I remember to do it, I pop the lid every few weeks to get a little fresh air in. I think I didn't pop the lids on a couple of jars for a few months. The cigars seemed a little soft. I was using 69% Boveda packs. The packs last a long time with the jars.

I’m using a 72%. I’ll be opening this one fairly often to get cigars out.

Had this one is the humidor for quite some time. Broke it out tonight after washing the taco. It was ok. Ash hold was terrible. It got better towards the second half.

Those are one of my all time favorite sticks! Full on flavor bomb and pairs really well with Weller Antique 107, Knob Creek Single Barrel or Old Forester 1910. Excellent choice, IMHO.

    Well done.

Oh man. I had some friends that went to Cabo and they brought me back these. I love that they thought of me and tried to hook me up with some Cubans but oohhhh man! They brought back the classic fakes that get an amazing amount of people. Soooo many things wrong from the band to the packaging and everything in between! If you don’t buy from a few certain Habanos shops you’ll more then likely end up with something like these.

If they cost anything like the Cubans I got in Dominican Republic then they paid at least $120 for that box. Ouch.

Today I picked up a "house smoke" from my local shop, Bo's Cigars. He's got 3 lounges here in SoCal. This one is made by Zino, which is actually Davidoff. Wish I took a pic of the box, it's got cool artwork featuring his company name, logo, and street signs of where the shop is. It's classic Davidoff quality, which is to say impeccable.
