@Kwikvette @xtremewlr well, almost hi 9s today. 10.01. The suspension needs more fine tuning. It just doesn’t want to hook right on launch.

That's the same issue I've always had with my Corvette; that rear independent setup won't hook even if its life depended on it.

Still hitting a 10 is strong AF

And the tundra totally managed 19.1 mpg. 60-65 is its sweet spot apparently

The sad part is. I was the one driving when it did a 10.01. I had the best time that cars ever had. Lol kinda made my buddy upset I could run it better on my first pass ever in that car than he ever could!

My 03 got 20mpg at 70-75mph from New Orleans back home. Tiny c rated tires of course.

It's less Tacoma and more mod
A lot of this comes down to sway bar thickness and adjustment with IRS. It's going to want to pick up to one side which is too easy with independent. As soon as that tire lifts it comes down the other side and the weight transfer causes you to break loose and take off sideways

I'd be curious to see the gas mileage I get going to Utah.

I got about 19mpg in the Tacoma when I drove to So Cal to Ryan's neck of the woods with a fully loaded truck (armor, rtt, 32" e rated tires). It was a 650-700 mile round trip.

    I have mods
Since putting on the 285/70s, I've dropped about 1mpg according to the computer, 17 down to 16 commuting to and from work. But then when the speedo says 70, it's actually about 73-74mph according to GPS. So, I'll need to do something about speedo correction. Fortunately, they figured all that out in the motorcycle world already and I can use the same Speedohealer they use to correct the error. Dunno if that will make a difference to the MPG tho.

Speedo reads 52 while actual is 55, at 61 I'm at 64-65 while 65 puts me at 70.

Pretty much exactly where I was with 32's on a 4.10 Tacoma.

Land Cruiser retiring from U.S. market after 2021. However, the LX will live on.

Maybe Lexus will tone down the front end after 2021 or introduce a new version based on the global LC platform.

A fully loaded LX can list for over $100,000. As the prices for both had been increasing, it looks like more customers had been going for the LX.

    https://www.yahoo.com/autos/toyota-land-cruiser-reportedly-retiring-134800142.html

Here's a comparison of U.S. sales numbers for 100 series vs. 200 series. 1999 was the best year for combined sales. I like 2000 better due to the 4 pinion front axle.

    For a better off-roader, look for a 1993-1997 80 series.
