What's the difference beside the front and rear adapter? Use the same gear and rf1a housing.

Sounds like an old wives tale made up by someone who’s truck has a reverse gear going out and sold their truck. No reason not to use it in reverse, I wouldn’t make a habit of getting up wicked obstacles in reverse though. It is rougher on the rear and since you’re putting all that torque on the coast side of the gears.

After I looked at it a bit longer, I believe they're actually mounting holes to bolt up to the rear of the transmission.
I'll know forsure when I go to install it, but that's my hunch.

Not many people with a w59 tranny & a doubler that I know of so just kind of tackling things as I go

I thought about getting one of them since it wasn't too far off what people wanted for an rf1a case locally

The reverse gear works fine and I trust the seller, I think he may just have gotten bad info about the crawlbox and reverse...

I was actually just joking about tackling obstacles in reverse. :D

He gives a number of torque values in the 3rd vid.
Also lists the grease, lube, oil, etc he uses.

All right what the fuck. This trail gear adapter isn't even close to matching up with the bolt pattern on my factory chain case. There's like four or so holes that don't line up.

The pictures speak for themselves. I don't really get what's going on, but it's like this is an adapter for a second gen or something.

Hate to say it, but that's trail broken gear quality control. A buddy a few weeks ago had issue with shifting his j case into 4wd because the adapter wasn't clearance enough from broken gear. We end up tearing it apart and grinding it ourselves cause broken gear want us to send it in for "repair"
You can clearly see the scar on the adapter binding with the rails

You're probably right. Sucks that I have to wait until Monday to give them a call and see what the hell's going on. Really curious to hear what they have to say about it.

Possible that it's a rear adapter for an entirely different truck. No idea

    Ouch...

    0 for 2

1 - poor packaging, damaged unit
2 - incorrect or poor machining.
    3 - ?

Dang TG! Get your stuff right

Yea foreal. I've actually had great luck with TG stuff up until this point.
Shitty that it had to happen at this point in the build.

Seems there's a bit of controversy on whether one should get 2.28 or 4.70 so I got both.
They were on sale :spending: and with free pickup it was just 6 hours later and here they are.
    Came with 1yr warranty.
