The hum could be a poor ground or over amplification setting. I don't think the factory HU has an Accessory power output so that if you shut the stereo off then the amp would be off. In this case I would install a switch. Could mount in the glove box to be hidden.

I've discussed it in other threads, it all goes back to the key just being an average amp it appears. I've put the ground all over the place. I've reduced the hum to where it is only slightly audible, but it still annoys me.

Really wish I never started this. All of the wiring necessary for the key looks so confusing to someone like me who’s never messed with audio before. I’ve spent a couple hours looking at one thread then another and it’s overwhelming.

I think this is the cable that we need for 2020 non JBL HU...website is similar to taco toones ...https://*********.com/shop/toyota-c...ta-camry-add-a-subwoofer-harness-plug-n-play/

@DamGuide can you confirm if this is the cable/part number required...

    Thanks!

Did you have to modify the harness or was it plug and play?

You have to cut the two terminals apart and wire those onto the harnesses you get with the kicker. I left the cable going into the head unit shorter than the ones going to the speakers so I could get a longer cable to hide the key above the glove box.

I found an old pic of my harnesses, the ground is much longer now to get a better ground. I got a quick connect, not pictured is the wire going to power.

No ours is much more straight forward, color wires go to color wires, just need to make sure you get the right end going with the other right end terminal, the inputs and outputs basically correct, so that the head unit gets sent to the right port on the key and is output to the speakers.

we don’t use the blue wire, at least I don’t know where to tap into to use it.

    Thanks.

1.The wire going to power... is that going to the battery or HU?
2.Is the ground needed or is that because you were getting static?
    3. The fused wire is that for your power?

    Thanks again

I tried power a couple of places, tried the battery, the accessory outlet, and an add a fuse. Configuration in pic is from the battery. Tried different configurations trying to eliminate buzz, none of them made a real difference.

    2. ground is required for power.

    3. Red is the power wire for the amp, it’s part of the two harnesses you get with the kicker. Black is the ground.

Did you contact the manufacturer about the buzzing? Perhaps it is a faulty unit.

I did, but I think it is common. I think some people are more aware of it and notice it far more than others. In my search, I have found a few posts even here that have had the same issue. Just depends on how sensitive you are to it. I don’t think it is a defect, just an average amp issue.

I did the tweeters a while back and liked the improvement, just bought the kicker front door speakers from crutchfield.

    Are these plug and play?
