Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
You could also visit a craft show or flea market to see if there is anyone else selling similar items. That will give you a feel for pricing in the area too.

    Indeed :p
Here’s the other one, with a landing, and thus a more reasonable footprint. The child gate at the top is for a post-op and rehabbing dog.
As part of this project I took out the bay window at the end of our galley kitchen and put in a Marvin slider and this deck, which really opened up the kitchen and added another point of egress.

    Have you tried https://www.hearnehardwoods.com/ ?
Quantity may be an issue, but they can usually get whatever you like if it’s not endangered/restricted—worth a call imo.

I let everybody I meet who trims trees for a living, that I will buy persimmon. The two logs I got cost me 20 bucks and were delivered to my work.

Has anyone else used transtint dye to pop grain?
Dye it dark walnut or black, sand off, then use a light transtint color like honey maple? That is what popped out the curl on that piece.20190507_051122.jpg 20190507_051122.jpg

Cream white with black streaks. The black becomes more evident the older the tree grows.
Only true ebony in Northern hemisphere if I remember correctly. It is very dense and tough.

That is persimmon unspalted. The big log is starting to grow a bit of fungus on the sealed ends. I have been rolling it and moving it. I have never spalted wood before so I may fail miserably.

You should take the shavings and make an epoxy blank
