So, enough working on this damn thing! Took it out for a drive this morning. There's an old, decommissioned Titan II missile silo about 30 minutes from my house, so I drove out to check it out.

    http://www.themilitarystandard.com/missile/titan2/silo/570-3.php

Not really a lot to look at since the silo has been destroyed and what remains is berried under ground. But still cool none the less.

Pretty neat, even with basically nothing there.

After that, I continued driving around the mountain that the silo sits at the base of. Fun trail, nothing super difficult but there is lots of over growth, so the 4Runner ended up with a bunch of new pinstriping. This is how it looked at the missile site after being washed just the day before.

There are a couple of smaller, open pit mines in the area. Not sure what they are mining but here is one of them.

Drove up a dead end trail on the side of the mountain to try and determine what this thing was up on the rocks above the 4R here. Still no clue, maybe something to do the the silo? Or something else?

Found a good spot to check out the suspension flex and figure out where the new 285/70 are rubbing. Only minor rubbing on the trailing edge of the plastic fender flares on each side and the rear tires just barely kiss the splash guards. Guess I could have/should have gone bigger!

So ended the morning looking like this.

Done! Finished cleaning up the interior today actually. I was mostly concerned with cleaning the seats since dirt is what kills the leather on them.

I do restoration work for two Titan II owners in Arkansas. Here’s two light fixtures out of one of the Launch Control Centers - before and after.
