anyone local want to buy some arb awnings??
I also have the 4 wall awning room as well as the mosquito net room for the big awning

how much are you looking for the big awning with the awning room and mosquito net?

 

id like to sell both awnings and both rooms all together as a package for $500
the mosquito room is new never used, the walls room has only been used about 4 different times
the big awing is almost new and the small one in great shape but the cover is a little dirty/stained in comparison to the big one
also have some brackets for the awning to go with the sale

 

anyone on long island doing an OVTune? or know of anyone that's doing it?

 

I put ovtune in my truck about 2 years ago, I love it.

LI beach camping?

I'm new to the region. I'm hoping to get outside and sleep in the back of the truck, see some stars, wake up to the sunrise. Looking at the Suffolk Co parks site it requires a flush toilet w/ a 5 gal tank. I am all for packing out waste/trash and keeping the beach clean but a flush toilet!? I'm curious if this requires a camper/trailer, or if anybody has been able to find a work around.

sadly the county beach parks here on long island that let us drive out on the beach with a 4x4 only allow self contained trailers for outer beach over night camping..

without a trailer or a slide in camper in the bed, ground tent camping next to the truck or even a roof top tent wont pass as self contained in the counties eyes
there are camp sites that are only a few yards away from the shore where you can tent/ground/car camp without a self contained camper, but not dead smack on the beach...

there is also a ny state beach 4x4 pass with a different list of beaches available that you might want to look into


the work around here on the island is just rolling the dice and camping guerrilla style, many have done this for years without getting hassled/busted

Outer Beach Camping

1. Outer beach camping is permitted with reservation at defined outer beach campgrounds (Cupsogue, Montauk, and Shinnecock East and Smith Point), beach conditions permitting.
2. Outer beach and beach parking lot sites accommodate self-contained trailers only, all season.
3. Self-contained campers must have a minimum of 5-gallon tanks for fresh, grey and black water and have a flushable toilet.
4. Smith Point Outer Beach Campsites are available by walk-up only on a first-come, first-served basis.
5. Open fires are permitted in approved containers only, see recreational fire policy for more details.
6. Four-wheel drive vehicles, with Suffolk Outer Beach permit, may access outer beach campsites.
7. All Camping Rules and Regulations apply to outer beach camping.
