    Good afternoon!

I recently purchased a Tacoma with a ~6" spacer lift and am curious about upgrading the suspension but have some doubts about the current setup. I only just started researching lifts and found out there's more to them then meets the eye so I'm hoping to get some recommendations from some people with more experience with lifts. I've done a bit of research on my own and have learned bits and pieces of what exactly my current setup is and this is what I got so far. Also, I'm not interested in going long travel, just want to optimize my current setup.

Here's what I (think I) know about my current setup:
    Front:
    • There's a FabTech front Dropped Bracket (I think that's what it's called). There seems to be a 5.5" vertical gap from the two bolts on the front (center to center of bolt). So I've been calling it a 5.5" dropped bracket.
    • Front coilovers seem to be stock Bilstein (in terrible shape)
    • There's a 6" spacer installed on top of the coilovers.
    • The UCAs and LCAs appear to be stock (is this even possible?)
    Back
    • Procomp ES9000 Struts (I think with 8.39" travel - google search)
    • I'm guessing stock leaf springs
    • And a 3" block under the leaf springs (The truck sits level, how only 3"?)
Most of my confusion is on the front end. First off, do I have a 6" lift or 5.5? Is it possible to have stock control arms with this setup? If I'm going to upgrade my suspension, is there a way to get a bit more suspension travel and possibly get rid of that spacer?

I've looked at King 2.5 shocks for 6" lift but I've heard they don't actually offer longer travel, but only a longer shaft for installation. so I might as well just get King 2.0 and keep the spacer right? to save some money.
My current thought is that any coilovers meant for a stock Tacoma will work me since I have the spacer. Is this going to be the best way to utilize all this space I have now? Is there other options I'm not considering that would better?

As for the control arms, I thought they're designed for specific lifts. I'm kind of shocked to think that they'd be stock. If they are stock, should I upgrade them and what type (upper and lower) would be a good setup for this? I'm also running 35s if that matters.

As for the back, I haven't really been looking for upgrades but if there's any red flags that people notice or possibly a better setup that's recommended, that'd be greatly appreciated.

I apologize for the long post, I just want to make sure I know what I should be looking into. I appreciate any help!

Here are some pics of my setup (I can add different angles upon request):

The front uses the drop brackets for lift. The rear is 5” the 3” block and a 2” add a leaf. For a level truck.

Oh I think you're right. I thought those leaves were stock but now I see there's an extra one. and it looks like it's broken actually so I'll need to replace the add-a-leaf.

Just so I understand, a 2" add-a-leaf doesn't mean 2" thick but changes the contour of the oem to provide a 2" lift? This would mean extra stiff back right? Is this the best way to lift the back end?

Ok so for the rear, I'm debating on two options. If I upgrade my rear leaf pack to All Pro Expos 3" pack then keep my 3" block and probably have to replace the U-bolts. But then I'd have 6" in the back and I think the truck would start to "stink bug". I'd have to squeeze an extra inch out of the front to keep it level (maybe that's easy idk). I suppose I could also purchase a 2inch block but I already have the 3inch and 1inch higher in the front and back wouldn't be a bad thing

Or apparently I can have a pack custom made for 5" lift for a bit more money.

I knew this was gonna turn into money pit :spending:

Yes you could have a custom 5” full leaf pack made for the rear, you could buy a 3” full leaf pack and use a 2” block. I would not do any block personally bigger than 2”.
