2 inch level kit (shut up, it doesn't decrease down travel its a top mount and its only so I can fit my 32's, I wouldn't take it back for anything and it rides great off road), snorkel, ARB Delux Front bumper, ARB Diff breather, ARB Rear summit bumper
Hello everyone! This is my first post around here, I found it because any time you google anything Tacoma related google shoves this site down your throat, so I figured It would probably be a good place to find a lotta knowledgeable people. So here is my situation, I just bought a 3'd 2017 3d gen Tacoma with only 7.5 k miles on it about 2 and a half months ago. Before everyone jumps down my throat saying I bought a shitty rust bucket farm truck that someone left outside, this is simply not the case. I had the truck looked over by 2 mechanics and got it on my buddies lift and we looked and listened to that thing down everywhere, it was in perfect condition when I bought it except for a few rusty bushings (to be expected on a few year old truck). However, I am pretty much out of every short term warranty that came from the used dealer, anyway the point is anything that happened to the truck I probably did but I can't figure out how.
I caught COVID from my buddy about a week ago so the truck had been sitting in the garage for about a week without any real driving, I started feeling better today so I decided to head out on a quick solo adventure out to this lake in the middle of nowhere of an overgrown logging road for to do a little bit of fishing. The road is nothing bad at all, a few exposed pieces of bedrock, lots of potholes, and a few fairly deep mud pits but nothing that would push the limits of any stock 4WD to much. I got back out to the mainline paved road and pulled out as soon as I did I realized I was still in 4H so before accelerating too hard I threw it into 2wd, it shifted without a problem but as soon as it clicked into 2wd the engine light and traction control light flipped on. I also noticed a slight shake in the speedometer that occurred randomly on the drive home. Other than that the truck drove comply fine. Once I get out of quartine I can take her to NAPA and get the code read but I don't have an OBDII reader at home. My first thought is that it's likely some typa facny smashy wheel senor or maybe the ABS senor got all messed up from a rock kicking up or some mud... I am really not to familiar with what typa tech Toyota puts in the wheels of those things but I would guess it's fairly skynet level based on how damn well crawl control works. Anyway, if anyone has any diagrams or knowledge of the tech that is in the wheels of these things and wants it to throw it down below it would be greatly appreciated! I am highly assuming its a wheel senor and it is not something with the trany because it didn't go into limp mode at all. Hoping its just a coincidence that it decided to shit the bed right when it shifted to 2wd...

I got nothing but , “take it to NAPA”
Once you get the codes, you’ll have a better idea of where to start looking.
You could crawl under and take a look, maybe you’ll get lucky and spot an obvious problem:notsure:

    All of this.

Keep your posts short, concise and to the point OP. We can't help you unless we know what the codes are and a shaky speedo does nothing to help us either. Is it physically shaking or are the needles bouncing uncontrollably or what? Videos might help also.

Ya, I will I was hoping maybe someone would have had a similar issue that started in a similar way, figured I'd get a headstart on maybe figuring it out while I am stuck at home. Have heard of people on the trail with the 3d gen Tacomnas complaining about their "wheel senors" before, wish I had asked them more about it when I was there.

When you do get the codes, I’d ask in the 3rd Gen section.
You’ll probably get more help there.
Hopefully the codes will point you in the right direction, and you can get it taken care of quickly and easily.

OP followed your advice, opened a new thread, became a flake, and got his thread deleted.

This is true, I do not sit on here all day like apparently like most of you people do. Rather than logging on and finding mostly helpful advice I logged on and people started accusing me of trolling, wonderful community yall have here. Good for you for going out of your way to state it though!
