Anyone who has gearlock in ECT PWR can send a screenshot of what the maps look like?

I already modified airload for a linear throttle

Set all shift values on ETC maps to lowest value for each map. Then when you press ETC Pwr and go to S-mode, you're in Gear Lock.

quoting so I can find it easier— I’ll try and flash this tomorrow. I flashed your other one like last week and have been loving it. Same MPG as final 2.0 but way better shifts and felt more powerful when I needed it, stoked to try a premium version out and the gear lock, too!

Yes. I can share it later. I'd be interested to see if you think it's an improvement, or if it's all in my head at this point... LOL.

Did you clear values? Did you drive it 50 miles before experiencing these issues? You can't just flash it and expect immediate results. Damn Tacomas got a learning curve!

I think we can, but I believe it's all in the ignition timing, and deviation factors, and a bunch of other shit I'm not comfortable touching. So I took the long way around and copied all my adjustments into a premium file. Changing gear ratios or tires is easy though.

Edit: To get full throttle in first, did you end up doing the same thing @92ehatch did? Does that apply to autos?

Awe hell no. I'm just an alter boy in comparison. I did do 3rd gear. What else do you prefer for TC changes? I'm interested. I didn't like removing 4th gear lock up. Felt like to strange of a transition between 4th+5th. Just my opinion though. Again, I'm only an alter boy.

    @Mooseditty17 First off, thanks man!!

If it’s not too much trouble, would you mind breaking down the TC behavior on your latest? How does it differ with ECT engaged?

Reason I ask is because I live in the mountains and tow about 4000#’s once in a while.

...wondering if there’s more slip or less and in what gears.

I made the TC more...binary, you could say. It stays locked longer and I know what i have to do with the pedal to make it unlock. It feels more like a non-computer controlled TC to me. I had 4th gear locking up as low as 30mph while coasting, and 36mph under light throttle. The 5th gear upshift came in right around 40 and it goes straight to lockup, which has me cruising around 1400 rpm IIRC. My fuel economy has been increasing significantly. Keep in mind I'm on 31.7" tires and only added weight is the RTT and hidden winch. I also drive pretty conservatively. Yesterday, I changed the tire diameter to be accurate and it may have thrown the 4th gear TC off. I lowered it a little more, but functionally it is locking at a higher speed now. I'm going to flash your new premium tune with tire size and TC changes and let it settle. Taco is not my DD, so it's hard for me to get the miles on. All of my evaluation is also seat of the pants; no data logging.

It doesn't lock or half lock in 3rd gear whatsoever. Takes slightly longer, about 5 mph before it locks up in 4th. And that's in D.

ETC should be as Toyota originally designed.

Edit: I also was concerned with towing. Zero issues. 20200802_093850-COLLAGE.jpg

I may have to try this and compare it to mine (which is very close to what you've done). Except mine is based off 04B04_Premium_Stock_35

I made these two changes last night and went for a short drive (about 6 miles) to the store and back. The pedal seemed extra sensitive to any changes in angle; like I was blipping the throttle which I could never do before. I'm going for a much longer drive today so I'll see how it does.

I think it's best to clarify that matt only recommended i change the full throttle torque base from 4000 to a higher value.

Changing the throttle request to air load was something i did in my own without any direction to do so from matt.

I do not know if it works for auto, i do not know if it can be detrimental to do so.

I do know i couldn't do full throttle before but now i can

I do know that there was no performance difference between having full throttle and not having it.

I do know that i could feel when the throttle plate went from full to 40 during acceleration and now i can't feel it because it doesn't do it.

Air intake is dictated by rpm and valves and throttle and not just where the plate is.

I just want to eliminate all limits and smooth the throttle out.

I do know you can try it at your own discretion.
