New cable on it's way Monday. Warranty voided if I use it as cable can not be altered.

Using that bus bar also voids the warranty, not sure why you are concerned about 1 note in the instructions but not another

I’ve installed Switch-Pros in 2020’s and have yet to run into issues with mounting. Under the hood everything has worked the same, SDHQ switched up there mounts a little but no issues. For interior everything has unbolted and mounted the same.

I haven't wired it up yet as I am waiting on a replacement cable. Yes I will be getting rid of the positive bus bar.

So does that mean Switch Pro wants people to hard wire their accessories to the colored harness wires?

I was able to fit the white plug through the firewall grommet. Takes patience and finesse.

That’s the idea, they want less stuff between their unit and the accessories to minimize possible compatibility issues.

As long as you use quality components it shouldn’t be an issue. I’ve got a Blue Sea 2508 for mine. I wouldn’t trust it to the Amazon eBay special.

Yeah....my Blue Sea components are all from Power Tray bundle kit.

The whole on board air system with a Switch Pro is still a work in progress. Everything is expensive and money apparently doesn't grow on trees.

Switch Pro is pretty militant about potential warranty issues and not following their installation instructions to the letter. I have some weird stuff going on with mine* and because I had the powertray with the fuse box positive wired directly onto the SP post, per the powertray instructions, as well has having it horizontally mounted, they wouldn't warranty it.

*my issues are that the switch panel stays lit when the truck is off (although the color changes to a bright green) and I lost the ability to the change the colors of the buttons (when on, it's a dull blue/green). It still functions fine, and the power draw to light the panel is miniscule so I don't worry about draining the battery while off, but it is not as it is supposed to work. And they are right... I didn't install it as they instructed so it's not their problem. I have since replaced the tray with the one from Powertray that installs the SP vertically and reworked how everything is powered.

I will dig through this thread more but I’m planning out my triggers and I already have a Dsim T harness which has taps for ignition and parking lights. I want to do my aux trigger off the dome. Instructions say a negative switch can be used but I’m not sure that means I can tap the dome trigger directly and configure or if I need to have the dome rock module to convert it. Figure I can try and see?

And, yes, I realize I will have to route those triggers from the cab to through the firewall but since I have to pull the control module harness anyway it seems like minimal extra work to avoid tapping the fuse box.

Question: Are you suppose to run the harness that connects to the module and panel through or on the side of the firewall grommet?

Yup, I just took a 1/2 inch wood chisel and pushed it through the grommet next to the hood cable, taped the connector to a hanger and slid it through smooth. Rubber tightened nice around the cable. Went alot easier than I feared.

Been studying "lurking" this thread and others since spring. Slowly gathering components over the summer, running wires, installing the MESO overhead swith panel, mounting the SP to the Power Tray and finally got my system up and running Saturday before Daylight Savings time when I really need the lights. Thanks also goes to @ramonortiz55 for his thread on routing wires and component mounting.

Took my time, thought everything out 3-4 times, put it together in an orderly progression...and guess what. Everything worked first time without any glitches. Thinking about the programming now, bet really, switch on - switch off is working for me now. I haven't hooked up any of the triggers, and can't really think of a reason to right now, at least for my current needs. What I have hooked up right now is the OEM fogs, Baja fog lights, PIA grill mount spots and BAJA reverse lights.

Again, thanks to everyone who input on this thread, it really made the install relatively easy and a success....

After spending about 30 minute messing around with the grommet, I just so happen to find a hole/opening next to the hood cable so I had used that and then cut a slit on the grommet on the inside of the cab. I had used a really long zip tie to guide the the Switch Pro harness through. Everything eventually came together.

@Shellshock and @PinnaclePete thanks for the info.

Question: The Blue Sea fuse box had already came with a pre-installed fuse, are you suppose to add in more fuses when you install more electrical accessories?

Yes you add fuses of that same style to the amperage of the accessories being added
